Treated my family to an authentic Egyptian lunch in this trendy restaurant. What differentiates this restaurant from the rest, is its fancy vibe, the high hygiene standards and superb quality of ingredients used.
We started off by ordering some appetizers such as Tahini, Baba Ghanouj, the iconic pickled spicy Eggplants and a Fattoush salad. Everything tasted so fresh, and we struggled to keep our hands off the food. The salads are served with Egyptian fluffy hot bread, fresh out of their oven.
Normally in traditional Egyptian (Kabab w Kofta) restaurants, you get to order whatever cuts you want by weight, however this restaurant is a little bit different, they have different set menus suitable for a couple up all the way to a big family. We chose the Andalus meal, which serves 3-5 people. This mesmerizing plate has a selection of the most famous Egyptian grilled meat and chicken cuts. Grilled chicken, Tarb which is kofta wrapped in sheep diaphragm, grilled lamb chops, veal cutlets, kofta and lamb chops. The plate was very fulfilling, the meat was juicy and tender with a very noticeable charcoal flavour. This meal is served with a spicy juice made of cold water, tomato, mixed greens, garlic and vinegar. We call this juice "halal whiskey".
We ordered more traditional Egyptian meals such as the Oxtail with stuffed vine leaves, and Roz Me'aamar stuffed with quail (rice dish). This dish is very famous in Egypt and is made of rice, topped with cream and Ghee that goes inside the oven until broiled. It can also be stuffed with duck, quail or other types of meat. Let me tell you, this dish was out of this world, it was one of the best I ever tried, and I might just come back for this only.
The waiters were all very helpful and accommodating. The prices as you would expect are a bit steep, I paid around 70 dollars for this food, but it is understandable due to the quality of food, restaurant location and it's fancy style. I would definitely recommend to try it, especially for tourists if you want to indulge in a hearty authentic Egyptian meal without worrying about the food hygiene. You will definitely have an unforgettable...
Read moreWhen I was in Cairo back in June, my wife’s relative invited me to Almohamady Restaurant, and I am so glad they did. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by how spacious, elegant, and beautifully maintained this place is. The restaurant is huge, spotlessly clean, and designed in a way that feels both welcoming and impressive at the same time.
The customer service was excellent – the staff were attentive, friendly, and made sure we were comfortable throughout the meal. You could tell that they truly care about their guests, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Everything ran smoothly, and we felt very well taken care of.
Now, the food – absolutely amazing! Every dish was packed with flavor, freshly prepared, and beautifully presented. The variety on the menu really highlights Egyptian and Middle Eastern cuisine at its best, and everything we tried was delicious. The portions were generous, and the quality of the ingredients really stood out. It’s the kind of food that makes you feel both satisfied and excited to try more.
What I also loved is how clean and organized everything was. From the dining area to the tables and even the serving style, Almohamady maintains a high standard that gives you complete confidence in the food and the atmosphere.
Overall, Almohamady is not just a restaurant – it’s an experience. Between the spacious and clean setting, the warm hospitality, and the outstanding food, this place left a wonderful impression on me. If you’re ever in Cairo and looking for a spot that combines amazing flavors with excellent service in a beautiful environment, I highly recommend Almohamady Restaurant. I’ll definitely be coming back the next time I...
Read moreJust Excellent. We ordered the plate of Meat Lovers (from Charcoal Oven menu) & Alexandrian Kebda with Green Salad and tahini The "Meat Lovers" was more than perfect. Different types of fine smoked meat (Short Ribs, Sirloin Steak, a Charcoal grilled Bone, Cheese stuffed Kofta, Brisket and Sausage) in order starting with the best Every item exceeded my expectations, not one disappointed. Served with 3 delicious Sauces (the mushroom one was heartwarming), honey and a big loaded baked Potato Kebda was very flavourful and tender indulged in lovely samna balady as well, it came with tomeya and their hot freshly made bread so it was like music together Even Tahini, green salad and the appetizers served beforehand were very good I mean the Whisky! (salad water, that was spicy, sweet and refreshing ✨️ was the best to pair with grilled fatty meat)
Quality, portions, presentation, harmony of ingredients, selection of sides and the fine cooking were all just on point.
Vibes are suitable for families & friends more than dates though.
Excited to go many times again and try all that I can from the menu.
First couple of times we had Suhoor that was of good quality. (Ramadan 2023 in 1st Suhoor pic & video, that was much better tbh with bigger portions, more diversity and higher quality &...
