The food is top-notch. Very authentic experience, real Chinese cuisine and noodles, with the food being extra delicious, served quickly and the staff welcoming and very friendly.
The noodles are hand pulled and have the best bite I have experienced in Cairo so far.
The prices are on the slightly higher end. The atmosphere does not match the food quality as it is surrounded by a lot of Cafes in case you will be sitting outside. The indoor dining area looked nice and is worth trying out to complete the experience.
Overall, the food quality and taste are great and is worth the higher prices and a lack of matching outdoor quality.
Update Thursday 26 June 2025: The food quality was different (lower than previous visit) when the restaurant was fully packed at peak hour.
N.B: Take care that the restaurant actually closes on Thursdays at 11:30 PM not 12 AM as written in Google Business details.
The staff were very tolerant when we came just before closing time and waited until we have finished our food post closing time.
The prices on the menu are including taxes and services which is always nice and rare to see
There were some missing items from the menu but that was understandable due to being the last customers to order.
I suggest the restaurant to allow pickup of takeout food given a pre-payment using online methods (wallets - instant payments) as we were initially wanting to order and pickup by a courier. However, the restaurant did not allow on basis of previous experiences with people ordering takeout by phone and not picking up the...
Read moreI had chicken sweet and sour, beef noodles, sizzling beef and beef dumplings I don't recommend it for Egyptians who like Chinese food in food courts like wok and panda house , I have never visited china so i can't claim that this restaurant serves authentic Chinese food, it was not for my taste, nothing from the above mentioned dishes was to my taste or liking, may be it is me not the restaurant, if I would explain my taste experience I would say that the chicken sweet and sour was more crunchy than it should be , the beef noodles soup was bland with only three small slices of beef, barely one can call it beef noodles, the sizzling beef was in a very oily vegetable mix, the oil tastes a bit bitter, the beef dumplings filled with a weired tasting mince, and the dipping sauce was oily rather than vinegary, I thought it should be vinegary i am not sure about this point , i asked for soy sauce that came in a malfunctioning pot, spilling the sauce randomly, the soy sauce was horrible , nothing like kikkoman or zumra , does the soy sauce differ from one country to another ? !!, the waiters are polite yet...
Read moreUnfortunately, my experience at Yiwan Egypt was extremely disappointing.
I ordered the Lanzhou spice chicken with potato, and I was informed that the dish includes potato, noodles, and chicken pieces with bone. However, what I received was a poorly prepared plate with a very small quantity of noodles and minimal chicken, which felt more like leftover scraps than actual pieces of chicken.
The taste was far below expectations — bland and unappetizing. Right after receiving the first dish, I placed an order for the dry-fried noodles. But just a minute later, after realizing how bad the first dish was, I asked to cancel the second one. The waiter bluntly told me, “It’s not my fault,” and refused to cancel the order despite it being placed only moments earlier.
This reflects not only poor food quality but also poor service and attitude from the staff.
Overall, this was a horrible experience. I do not recommend Yiwan Egypt to anyone looking for good food or respectful...
