Buckle up, buttercup.
This place has so much potential that is being wasted.
Starting off with the location, it’s absolutely amazing. Great views, fresh air, on the outside patio but a little bit noisy from traffic even at 10 o’clock at night.
The service is where my complain complaints start. Our waitress was clearly being trained, but maybe not in the best manner. Coming from the restaurant industry, watching a waitress get corrected in the way that she was in front of the customer was almost sad to watch. She had simply forgotten the orange slice in the blue moon and the waiter that was guiding her spoke loudly enough to make sure we heard and it was somewhat uncomfortable. Other than that her service was 10 out of 10 and she was trying the best she could. I do understand that they are just following orders when it comes to upselling things or making recommendations, but the original menu item that we wanted was not available and the waiter that was helping her was only offering things that were not on the menu so it was a bit questionable on pricing.
Now we get to the menu, they only offer part of the menu during the morning and part of the menu during the evening, but it’s all on one newspaper style printed menu. This would be fine if the text was large enough, and there was enough lighting to be able to read it. As for pricing, I know the target market they are aiming for, but they are not there yet for their pricing.
Which brings us to the food. I don’t want this to come off as me complaining about the pricing, but it was not worth the money. They were able to upsell us to add shrimp and cheese to the potato and bacon dish. (we just wanted something to share considering we had already had dinner and we’re just out for drinks, but wanted to see what their food was like, with that being said, I guess we just picked the wrong dish considering that our first choice wasn’t available) if it had not been for the shrimp we probably would not have even finished the dish. The potatoes were very oily and almost unseasoned. The cheese felt like it was out of a can in the highlight of the dish was the shrimp but for almost $23 it did feel like no one made an effort to make that food. the presentation was amazing for what it was, but that was the most sad potatoes I have eaten in a long time.
Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience, it just wasn’t something that is making me want to go back in the evening at least. The brunch will be there chance for me to update my review. For sure will give this place another chance.
