My family and I visited the old location 2 or 3 times over the past few years and made some good memories. The waitstaff was always engaging, and the food was good. Yesterday I learned from another business owner that Aladdin moved closer to my home, so I figured I’d take my wife there for our date night. We passed the restaurant twice expecting a stand-alone location, so we asked some guards where to find it. FYI, the restaurant is at the lower level of the building that has Daily Mini Market and Arosci Spa. The entry makes it feel like you’re entered whole new world. The ambience was nice. We chose to sit outside. I recognized one of the servers. She and the other guys have been with Aladdin for nearly a decade. It was clear throughout the night that they were seasoned staff and knew how to interact with both local and ferenji clientele. My wife and I ordered a number of things, and all of them were perfect. I can’t think of a negative thing about our evening. Once the word gets out that the Bisrate Gebriel area has another quality dining experience, I expect this place...
Read moreThe items you see in the pic cost about 1240 birr. Man are you sure about your pricing for the quality and quantity you provide. Except for the ambiance inside and the kind sevice of the waiter we had (couldnt see the same with other waiter a few tables aside), nothing to recommend. Did they serve izmir kofte or something ? Both kofte and kebab didn't tantalize the taste beds. Could say, For sure, they werent freshly prepared. Was cold when arrived, when only 2 or 3 tables were occupied in the entire restaurant. Those made with minced meat need to be juicy and soft. They were neither juicy nor soft but chewy to an extent. The worst part was even after two beers, the tongue and upper pallate felt left with a coating of fat. How on earth could kebabs or kofte leave fat layer if cooked properly. Pitta bread was ok. Parking issues exist as it's a busy road. Was not a good experience to try further any other item or give a second thought. By the way service charge is added to consumption and then it's taxed. Is it legally correct to tax the consumer for providing...
Read moreMy husband and I have loved going to Aladdin at the original location in Bole. Last night we decided to try the new place in Bisrate Gebriel. I was worried as we had our two small children with us (2 year old and 10month old) but it turned out to be one of our best family times eating out ever. The staff was so kind, helpful and accommodating. The food so tasty (and a very fair price in our opinion). The new spot is beautiful and well decorated. Our oldest was even sick at one point and the staff cleaned everything up, reassured her and made sure we had everything we needed.
We are so grateful for this wonderful experience and look forward to returning/recommending for...
