This was my second time trying Korean food in Addis Abeba. (I only had it previously in Berlin). I can't say if it is authentic. However, the 🍗 fried chicken, me, and my partner, tried, was very delicious. It was sticky, sweet, and Sauer glased chicken. The portion looked small since our server told us that it is enough for 2-3 people. But it ended up being enough for the both of us. 🍚I did have to add one rice. I would say if you are very hungry it is enough for 1 person but in combination with other dishes it can feed 2. With the chicken came 5 side dishes. They balanced the oily chicken with the acidity. Saly it was very small in comperision with the chicken. We also ordered a gimbap. I really love seaweed, especially kimbap. Therefore, my hopes were high. Luckily, it was very good. It didn't have any special or distinct ingredient, but if it isn't broken, don't fix it. The dispointment part was sadly the soya sauce.❌️ It was heavy and very oily, which made the gimbap unpleasantly filling. I also tried the watermelon lemonade 😋 It was sweet. A bit heavy with the chicken but nice at the end.
The day i went there was no electricity. Which was very audible since the generator🤖 was running in the background. I did look for a place inside, but since we came on the weekend, it was filled. So we had to speak louder to hear each other over the generator. On the aesthetic perspective was the garden defiantly winning with a big mural and the fairy lights as well as the visually pleasing tablecloth. Sadly the generator made it hard to enjoy.
💛All the waiters were quit young. In this situation it was to an advantage, since all of them cared and were quick to react. They were very attentive and checked in. I found it easy to talk to the waiter that was serving us 👌🏽. I ould say their biggest drawing point are the waiters since they can give advice on what locals would prefer. I felt respected as a customer and enjoyed my time chatting.
🌌In conclusion lovly service. Since I haven't tried a lot of food I could only recommend the fried chicken ! But be aware that it is hard to eat with utensils and you would most likely end up using your hands! Mabey the gimbap but avoid the🚫...
Read moreGangnam Korean Restaurant is a beautiful place with delicious food and prompt service. I love Korean food, and they delivered on taste, authenticity, and plating. The food was beautifully presented and displayed, and the portions were fair. One of my favorite aspects of Korean cuisine are the starters - the fermented radish, cucumbers, and especially kimchi. We ordered the vegetable gimbap (rice rolls in seaweed, looks like sushi), japchae (glass noodles), and beef bulgogi. I prefer my food without the sweetness added by sugar in most Korean dishes ... they did not disappoint. The only downside was the japchae. While perfectly seasoned, it was overcooked! The Jasmin green tea was fragrant and a perfect complement to the meal. For those who have room for dessert, there is a café inside the compound with very interesting sounding dessert combinations. Will definitely try next time! As it got dark, the staff lit the fire in the center of the compound... most delightful. I highly recommend this...

🍽️ The Food: The flavors were rich, authentic, and well-balanced. I tried [mention specific dishes if you remember], and each dish had a unique taste that was both comforting and exciting. The side dishes (banchan) were a pleasant surprise—fresh, flavorful, and a great way to complement the main dishes.
