Umoja, East African Cuisine & Cabaret — Restaurant in Addis Ababa

I recently visited Umoja for lunch and had an excellent experience overall. I ordered ugali with chicken, which was served with vegetables, and I must say the food was fantastic. The chicken was well cooked and flavorful, the ugali had the perfect texture, and the vegetables complemented the meal beautifully.

The service was efficient, and the atmosphere was welcoming. However, one downside was the noise level. A group of West African men was having a meeting nearby, and they were extremely loud, which made it a bit difficult to enjoy the otherwise great dining experience.

I stumbled upon a picture of the place on ahun app and felt like I had to see it. But, the place was tiny and wouldn't fit maximum of 30 people at once. The service and atmosphere was poor since they shut down the music just because they had guests on a gathering. This is disrespectful for those attending the place at the same time. I personally haven't enjoyed myself while I went there and left...

This place is one of a kind where you visually and spiritually see African history and texture, where the atmosphere meets the heart ❤️, loved the food & service.

If you want to spend some me time or get together with friends this is the place to go.
