Their food is good. I just didn’t understand how their eat-all-you-can buffet worked, so I visited them again. We were shocked to find out that you can actually take out food from the buffet, they gave us containers to fill with whatever we wanted. So, we decided to dine in (there were two of us) and take away food for three more. In total, we paid for five buffet meals. The weird thing was, while we were filling up the take-out containers, the biryani ran out and we hadn’t added any to our last container yet. We asked if they would refill it, but they said it was already finished. Instead, they offered us their a la carte biryani to put in the last container, so we paid a bit more for that and still didn’t get to fill the container completely. What’s strange is that right after we left, they refilled the biryani. We’ll still come back though, but wouldn’t try taking out from their buffet again

We went here twice with our family of 5. The first time was so good, we decided to go again on our last day on the Faroe Islands. We were not disappointed. The food is delicious, the service very friendly. All menu items we tried were delicious, including the butter chicken, chicken massala, dahl, hamsa burger and two different kind of pizzas. I had the butter chicken both times, as it was incredible delicious already the first time. The second time again. I have had many butter chicken all over the world (except for India...), and this one belongs to the top 5 of butter chickens I ever had. Only the naan could have been a bit better, if I need to find something to further improve on. This place is highly recommended when you are in or near Tórshavn. The place is not big, so it might be wise to book a table upfront. We were lucky both times to be seated without reservation.

Since leaving the States I’ve been missing Indian cuisine and being Celiac I have to be careful where I eat. We found out about Hamsa from a gluten free online group and I’m glad we tried it. It’s a fusion restaurant so along with Indian food they have burgers and pizza, steak and even nachos. My wife had a pizza and loved it (she doesn’t have to worry about gluten like I do), and I had some Dahl and rice with papadam and chutney. It was all very delicious and the waiter was very conscious of my gluten free requirements. Highly recommend and we will certainly be back.

Located in Hoyvik, Hamsa is an absolute gem and a must-visit for anyone seeking incredible flavors and warm hospitality. We loved it so much that we ended up eating there three times during our stay!

First and foremost, the food is simply delectable, finger-licking good! The falafel sandwich and beetroot hummus were bursting with flavor and authenticity. We also tried the pakora and dal rice, which were comforting and packed with the kind of flavors that feel like a warm hug on a plate!

Secondly, the staff at Hamsa deserve special mention. Kareem, in particular, was an exceptional host—warm, courteous, and full of fascinating stories about the Faroe Islands. Despite running a busy restaurant, he took the time to make us feel truly welcome. On our request, he even whipped up something off-menu, going above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience.

If you're in Tórshavn, do not miss this incredible restaurant. Hamsa is a treasure trove of vibrant flavors and heartfelt hospitality—an experience you...

My celebratory crew got me hunting for a restaurant. Many were closed until evening, and I needed proper meals to feed three hungry stomachs. On Google Maps, my eye spied a beautiful yet familiar picture of food... and more... rich earthy colours... I showed my husband... his eyes 👀 popped... We said that's where we're going... He drove there fast... our two curious teens asked where we were headed. I said, "Trust Mama, you'll love the place." Quick before parking, I ran to inquire if the place was indeed open.... I was invited with aromas from home.... Aaah....❤️❤️❤️ When my family entered, they, too, were shocked and delighted by the familiar aromas emanating from Hamsa kitchen... divine spices. It was a pleasant surprise. There is PROPER FOOD, and the hospitality is top-notch. It is what we grew up with, fabulous. Now we know where to have a superb meal when in Tórshavn....
