The Captain's Cafe — Restaurant in Northern

This place is maybe one place you just has to visit if you happen to be in Savusavu. The views from the outdoor tables are breathtaking and compliment the cafe well.

Not to be outdone by the views - the staff here is with permanent smiles and always welcoming (with the exception of the lady cashier who never smiled or acknowledged any customers during the entirety of our stay!). This was the only let down of the cafe as such.

The food was reasonably good. We had ordered the Club Sandwich from the menu. The serve sizes could be better though.

More importantly, quality control may be a issue as we found burnt and stale fries mixed with freshly done fries (I have posted pictures of them here).. This was a certain NO. Businesses can certainly do better than that.

Cutting corners like this just spoils the otherwise perfect meal (even if it was meager) and lead to inappropriate ratings (as in this case downgraded from 5 stars...

We were told the pizza here was supposed to be top notch. It was lack luster at best. The sauce tasted like it was canned and the crust tasted like it came out of a package. It was doughy and no flavor to it. The toppings were mostly cheese with a few topping but scant. The staff was rude and unfriendly. Not what I expected in Fiji. Where is the BULA people? The woman who took our order at the counter was surly and rude. No matter how kind we were, she just glared at us. The entire staff made us feel like we were a bother. We are on vacation. The cafe was not very clean either. We are happy, polite people and will roll with just about any thing but the food was not worth putting up the rude staff and dirty...

Not impressed with this restaurant. Only one staff member was present and would flitter off and hang out in the kitchen or other cafe that is attached. We seated ourselves. No water was offered. We stopped in for lunch and I wanted to order the banana fritter with ice cream but unfortunately the shopping wasn’t done so it wasn’t available. Ironic if you ask me as we are on an island that has banana trees? Anyway, the chicken schnitzel was average and didn’t come with any Parmesan cheese on top. Salad was nice and the chips were dry and not hot with no sauce offered. Lastly we had to pay $1 for a takeaway container. All in all I won’t be...
