The food was quite good (in particular the steamed fish) if you're after Chinese food. However, I gave it 3 stars because we were served coconut crab that was rotten. We raised this with the waiter and they kept insisting this was normal. We knew it was not as the crab had a strong smell of rotten seafood and the crab meat was grey. It also tasted off. Any chef worth their salt should know when their food is rotten so we were very unhappy that they chose to serve this and argue it was acceptable.
If you want good and fresh coconut crab, try a restaurant called "Delicious Seafood Restaurant". They serve fresh coconut crab - we asked them to show us the crab after our Bohai experience and they brought out a live crab.
At the time of this review, "Delicious Seafood Restaurant" does not appear on Google maps but it is next to Daikoku. The food is of a similar price to Bohai but is better quality. The service is fast and friendly.
My advice is to skip Bohai and go to Delicious...

Now, the food⦠hmm. We ordered the chicken wings (28 FJD) ā about 3 whole wings, just chopped into small pieces. The ālarge sizeā prawn dish (58 or 68 FJD)? You could count them on one hand ā and they definitely werenāt large.
We also ordered stir-fried vegetables and fried rice ā both decent, but nothing memorable. The highlight (or maybe lowlight?) was the ālarge sizeā fish (78 FJD), which turned out to be a frozen fish. For that price, we were expecting fresh ā or at least a little wow factor ā but nope.
The sea urchin steamed egg came in a small bowl, not the usual shell presentation, and we werenāt even sure there was real sea urchin in it.
Loved the hospitality, but the food portions and quality didnāt match the price. We left with full hearts⦠and half-empty stomachs. If you go, maybe have snacks waiting back...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat food, for the price. For about $90 US Or $180 Fiji dollars, had a kilo lobster, med salmon cod, beef chow menu and pepper beef with two large Fiji gold beers. Not bad for a restaurant on the Main Street of Nadi. Anyway, I will definitely go back and try a few of the same dishes prepared differently. The lobster was tougher than Iām used to and the ginger and garlic sauce was not as flavorful as Iām used to. Will have to try that hot and peppered. The fish on the other hand was delicate but sauce was thicker than I would like for a flaky fish, so will go braised with soy next time. The other dishes were pretty basic, but the beef was not as tender as I am used to in the states. Iām sure they donāt pound or season with tenderizer here, so we were fine with it just different. Service is typical Fijian. They come when you ask them to. Definitely 4 stars and maybe a bit more. Just canāt go...
