Corner Café – A Hidden Gem in Nadi!
We stumbled upon Corner Café purely by chance, and what an incredible find it turned out to be! While searching for authentic Fijian cuisine, we passed by a few times, assuming a café wouldn’t serve cooked meals. However, as we struggled to find a place, I happened to glance through the window and saw a group enjoying dinner. That was all the encouragement we needed to step inside, and from the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality.
With a group of seven, we started with beer, cocktails, and fresh pineapple juice—each drink was not only beautifully presented but also absolutely delicious. We couldn’t resist ordering more, especially the Piña Colada and the Strawberry Coconut Daiquiri—both were exceptional! The balance of flavors, the freshness of ingredients, and the perfect tropical touch made them some of the best cocktails we’ve had.
For dinner, we indulged in a variety of dishes, including the fish and mutton thali, chicken schnitzel, kokoda, roro, and other Fijian specialties. Every dish was a celebration of flavor and authenticity. The kokoda (Fijian ceviche) was incredibly fresh, creamy, and zesty, while the roro (taro leaves in coconut milk) was rich, comforting, and bursting with traditional taste. Each plate reflected the essence of Fijian cuisine, made with care and expertise.
What truly elevated our experience was our host, Titilia. Her service was nothing short of outstanding—warm, professional, and incredibly attentive. She took the time to explain the dishes, ensured we had everything we needed, and made us feel completely at home. Her kindness and efficiency made our first evening in Fiji truly memorable and welcoming.
Corner Café is a must-visit spot in Nadi—a hidden gem that offers exceptional food, fantastic drinks, and top-tier hospitality. We will absolutely return on our next visit to Fiji and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a genuine and heartwarming dining...
Read moreI recently visited this restaurant and was disappointed by the service. Although the dining room was nearly empty—only my party and one other table were present—the staff seemed unable to manage even simple orders.
My companion and I ordered only eggs and toast, which should have been served quickly. After 10–15 minutes with no food in sight, a new customer arrived and placed an order. Another 10 minutes passed before we asked our server why our meal hadn’t come yet. She finally reappeared carrying both our plates and the other table’s plates together. When I pointed out that our eggs and toast were cold—clearly having been prepared well before they reached our table—she told us, “I brought them all at the same time, the kitchen prepared them altogether” which didn’t make sense because we made the order way before the other guest.
Leaving aside whether “Fiji time” accounts for long waits, this approach is simply poor service. A basic principle of restaurant work is to serve each table as soon as their dishes are ready. By holding our food for the sake of convenience, the kitchen sent us cold plates, and the server dismissed our concern rather than apologizing or explaining what happened.
The food itself was decent once it finally arrived, but the overall experience was marred by the staff’s inefficiency and—or worse—their apparent bias in serving the other table first. Whether this was due to incompetence, a lack of training, or outright favoritism, it made for an unpleasant morning . In my opinion, a restaurant that can’t handle a handful of simple orders in an almost-empty dining room does not deserve...
Read moreMy wife, Swati, and I visited Corner Café this morning for breakfast, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment we stepped in, we were welcomed by a warm and inviting ambiance. The café’s cozy atmosphere, with plenty of natural light and a relaxing vibe, made it the perfect place to start our day.
For breakfast, I ordered the Ottoman Breakfast paired with a Vanilla Latte in Almond Milk, while Swati had the Chilli Cheese Toast with a Cold Coffee. Every dish was beautifully presented, showcasing attention to detail and quality. The flavors were spot on—my Ottoman Breakfast was a perfect blend of richness and freshness, and Swati thoroughly enjoyed the spicy, cheesy goodness of her toast. The beverages were equally impressive, with my vanilla latte being smooth and flavorful, and Swati’s cold coffee perfectly balanced.
A special shoutout to Josie, the ever-smiling and attentive staff member who served us. Her warm hospitality and friendly nature truly enhanced our experience. She made sure everything was perfect, and her genuine enthusiasm for her work was evident.
This was undoubtedly one of the best breakfasts we’ve had in Fiji, and we highly recommend Corner Café to anyone looking for great food, fantastic service, and a lovely ambiance. We will...
