Great service and is a popular place according to my brother but we managed to get a table for breakfast on a Sat morning (with table service). The counter is right in front of you when you enter so brace yourself for potential chaos as there are customers who are queuing to place takeaway orders, customers waiting to pay their bill and customers waiting to be seated. Once we were seated I ordered the kanalevu breakfast and a hot chocolate. I have to say that I wasn't that impressed. Quite unfortunate really as I had high hopes. There wasn't a lot I was able to substitute as the substitution has to be of equal value and there aren't a lot of options to begin with. I found the green salad with breakfast quite weird - not really something I want to eat first thing in the morning. The "hash browns" were more like potatoe cakes and had an unpleasant taste - something quite sour about them. Sausages were great and I didn't understand why bacon wasn't an option. The ciabatta bread was really good but I expected this dish to have more Fijian elements. Something like fresh homemade Fiji bread instead of the ciabatta and crispy dalo or kumala hash instead of hash browns. Instead of a green salad steamed Fiji spinach or watercress would have been better. The mushroom element from the dish was also missing so an equivalent ingredient from Fiji would have been great and the grilled tomatoe equivalent could have been a tomatoe chutney either fresh or cooked rather than tomatoe sauce. The coconut cheesecake didn't have enough coconut for me. Coconut cream could be used more. The chocolate cake and hot chocolate were fine. The Berliner was the highlight for me and I would've loved to have taken these home on the plane with me - so delicious and fluffy! I'm hoping these will still be in the cabinet the next...
Read moreMy family has multiple food intolerances and it is very difficult for us to find a safe place to eat when travelling to Nadi from Suva. This is our second time at the Coffee Hub in Nadi and I must say our first experience was great, which is why we stopped by a second time. Lovely coffee, loved the Sunrise juice and really just great customer service.
But I gave 3 stars for lack of consistency in the gluten free bread. Due to health issues, I have to be on a gluten free diet. The last time we had breakfast here, I had a nice gluten free toast, the coffee was lovely and bread was lovely. However, today the bread was terrible, crumbly and cold and it was not the same brown bread i had the last time. I know most gluten free bread require it be refrigerated but to serve it cold is a rip off. I would ask for consistency in the gluten free bread that is on the menu. A crumbly gluten free bread means there's either too much eggs or egg powder or not enough binding agent. A crumbly gluten free bread also means there's a high chance it will fall apart if you handle it too much. And that is what I got today, a sandwich with only the top side toasted and every other side of the other slices cold as a turkey. The sandwich just crumbled all over. I'm sure the chef or the owner wouldn't have eaten the sandwich I got today, point is, serve what you would serve and pay for yourself.
Gluten free foods can taste great with a little more research and effort. If you have a crumbly gluten free bread, it would be better to serve it as a French toast so the egg can hold it. Or use it as bread crumbs for fried chicken and offer a gluten free fried chicken. It is nice that Coffee Hub wants to include gluten free food on the menu, but please make it as good as foods containing...
Read moreMy favorite place to eat in Nadi. Coffee Hub is more than just a coffee shop.
You can start your day with a delicious coffee and a healthy breakfast (avocado toast, fruit salad, granola bowl) while getting your important work done, have a relaxed lunch (thai noodle salad, roasted pumpkin salad, quinoa salad) on the outside terrace or enjoy a quick healthy dinner (yucca fries with aioli or vegetarian thai rolls) before on your way to the airport. They have a lot of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options on the menu. If you are a health conscious eater, you will find something here.
I came here for breakfast and some needed work time and loved it so much that went back for dinner on my last night.
Pancakes for breakfast were good - a little too dry but loved the homemade jam. Thai rolls as well as the fresh ginger lemon tea were yummy.
The service here is truly impeccable. Thank you Peci and Mela for making my stay unforgettable.
Coffee Hub has a huge indoor seating area with small and large tables (check out the tables by the window next to the terrace) as well as an outside terrace with lounge music playing in the background.
The establishment is located on the main road hence you can hear car noise when sitting outside but I like that the terrace is surrounded by trees.
