Not what I'd normally think of as a first choice for good fare, but the restaurant at the station in Hämeenlinna has excellent pizza cooked with a thin crust and ample toppings, served piping hot, and again excellent chips fresh from the fryer, using clean oil, and again with a crisp taste. If you want to feed two people for €25, or feel like splashing out and having a beer and lonkero, a meal can be had for €40. Outstanding value for money, and a friendly face to take your order. An easy choice for good food on a budget (including a complimentary coffee to finish). The restaurant has a cozy feel, with attractive decorations and a peaceful atmosphere.

Terrible customer service. The cashier/owner was annoyed from the beginning and turned super aggressive, raising his voice when we asked questions about the lunch options since most offers on display were not available I decided to leave the place immediately and deescalate the situation. What a sour taste to leave Hämeenlinna city and the train station after this experience. I feel sorry for any tourist that dares to visit this Ravintola. If you happen to visit, please leave a review of your experience

Kana gyros annoksessa kana oli raakaa. Menin valittamaan, enkä saanut annoksesta edes rahoja takaisin, sillä "olin kuitenkin ehtinyt jo syömään niin paljon annoksesta". Eli koska söin ison määrän raa'an kanan saastuttamaa annosta, en ollut oikeutettu korvaukseen. En tietenkään olisi syönyt annoksesta yhtään, mikäli olisin tienny sen sisältävän raakaa kanaa. Myyjän mukaan tämä ei ollut heidän vika, sillä kana tilataan pakasteena muualta. Myyjä tarjosi lopulta 5€ korvausta (sillä olin syönyt ison osan) tai vaihtoehtoisesti sitä, että ottaa yhteystietoni ja pyytää korvausta kanan toimittaneelta yritykseltä. Annoin yhteystiedot ja lopulta minulle tarjottiin korvaukseksi uutta annosta. En kuitenkaan luota enää ravintolan annoksiin, joten en hyväksynyt korvausta. Rahoja eivät suostuneet antamaan viallisesta annoksesta edelleenkään takaisin. Mielestäni ei ole kohtuutonta pyytää asiakkaalle vaarallisesta annoksesta rahat takaisin. Näin jälkikäteen voi todeta, että onneksi ei nyt tullut mitään tautia tuosta, sillä myös raskaana ollut puolisoni maistoi annoksesta.

Asemaravintola Hämeenlinna was not a good place to end our day visit in the city. The cashier definitely didn’t seem suited for the position—unhelpful, uninterested, and completely lacking basic customer service skills. A simple question felt like a bother to him. With that kind of attitude, it really brought down the whole experience. Honestly, the R-kioski shop just opposite is a much better option—friendlier staff and more welcoming service.
