Restaurant is located in beautiful small island connected to Laajasalo. Building is historical, it hosts Workers Yacht Club. Terrace is open during summer time. Food is simple, but in good meaning of the word, you will get generous portion of tasty fish, cutlet or steak, salad, etc., but don't expect edible soil with frozen lichen foam. All the products they use are good quality and fresh, people working there are fantastic. You can get beer, cider, wine and hard liquors; water is free. It is possible to book the table, members of the club can also organise parties upstairs We like to visit "Palma de Pyy" from time to time, because it is good chance to have a walk or bike ride. Children are welcome, but must be attended because there is water access, wild geese, boats and behind restaurant are workshops. You go through pier without relings, and water is rather deep there. There is bike stand, but Christiania bikes should stay in small clearance on the mainland rather than try to get into an island Place isn't really accessible, but for small wheelchairs and otherwise sporty people it could be done. There are one or two steps and doors are narrow, paths are steepy. I don't remember how is about toilet accessibility. Big wheelchairs (especially electrical) imo couldn't make it - maybe terrace, but table service is really limited, you order at the counter. People with walking disabilities can have problems with reaching the place - car traffic is restricted (there is no way to drive close to the island), nearest parking places are often occupied so you need to walk few hundred meters on the gravel path, there are uphills and downhills. If you think about coming with pet - there ar hooks and water bowls, but animals are not allowed nor inside neither...
Read moreOur little, super well-behaved dog has been welcomed all over Southern Europe in any restaurant, including Michelin star restaurants. In the land of happiness in Finland, in the summer, a small dog is not welcome outside, even on the terrace, we assign a place far from the table where there is a leg tree to which the dogs are tied. And the service is so rude. No wonder this country never develops in any direction towards the rest of Europe. Wake up, take a model from France, Spain, Italy, even try.
And on top of all that, it was confirmed on the phone that the small dog can come to the terrace with us to rest under the table. In France and Spain, though, he always sits beautifully on his own platform on a bench at the same table.
Restaurant Palma de pyy. In beautiful surroundings, but NOT to continue even if I'm on the move...
