Restaurant Puksu Room — Restaurant in Helsinki sub-region

If you see the good reviews this venue has, have into account that they changed owners a year or so ago. The food here used to be amazing, and now they serve very forgettable kebab and pizza.

Recently, a friend booked Puksu Room to have her engagement party. When everybody arrived there, they were told "unfortunately" there was a double booking and they couldn't use the space. They forced everybody into a different room, and didn't refund anything that was paid for the original space, under the explanation that "these things happen sometimes."

Because of this, when I decided to try to host a birthday party there, I decided to contact them in written format. I emailed them asking for the Karaoke/Game Room. They took 4 days to reply and answered suggesting I take the DJ Room (which doesn't have karaoke), with minimum sales of €500.

I replied that we're specifically looking for karaoke, and we'll only be there for a couple of hours and will be under 20 people, and once more asked if the Karaoke Room was available.

Still not confirming whether the Karaoke Room was available or not, they replied that they can add karaoke equipment to the DJ Room for extra €30.

I repeated the DJ Room is not what we need and the minimum sales of €500 is too high for the amount of people that we'll have and the time that we'll be there. I clarified that the Karaoke room, instead, has the right size, equipment and services we need, with €300 for minimum sales which makes more sense for the party we were planning.

They stopped replying.

Tämäkin yritys näyttää joutuneen koronapassin vastustajien mustamaalauslistalle. Tuskin nämä viimeisimmät kommentoijat ovat ikinä edes paikan päällä käyneet, sen verran absurdeja ovat mielestäni nuo yhden tähden kommentit.

Itse olen käynyt Puksu Roomissa syömässä nyt kolme kertaa, viimeksi perjantaina, ja kokemus on ollut pelkästään positiivinen. Kaikki tähän mennessä kokeilemani kasvisannokset ovat olleet herkullisia, ja varsinkin curryperunat tuntuvat vaan paranevan kerta kerralta. Palvelu on yrittäjän taholta ollut todella ystävällistä ja kaikin puolin ruokailevan asiakkaan viihtyvyyttä huomioivaa. Myöskään siisteydestä ei ole mitään valittamista, paikka on joka käynnillä ollut siisti ja viihtyisä aina naistenhuonetta myöten.

Ainoat asiat, joihin mielestäni voisi vielä panostaa, ovat ruokalistan ja nettisivujen oikeinkirjoitus, joka kaipaisi hieman viilaamista (useat pienet kielioppivirheet antavat aina hieman amatöörimäisen mielikuvan yrityksestä) sekä julkisivun teippaukset, jonka perusteella olen näin paikallisenakin vuosien ajan kuvitellut paikkaa tavanomaiseksi kaljakuppilaksi. Onneksi Jodelin positiivisten kommenttien ja viimeaikaisten lehtijuttujen perusteella uskaltauduin kuitenkin viimein astumaan sisälle, josta löytyikin todellinen helmi! Voisin hyvinkin kuvitella tulevani tänne istumaan iltaa ystävien kanssa myös drinkkien ja lautapelien ääressä joskus tulevaisuudessa. Jatkakaa...
