The reception and the restaurant in the resort were closed during my stay in Nov. The igloo house was ready for us to enter and the breakfast was already placed inside the refrigerator. It had been cloudy all three nights but thankfully, I could see the Aurora in between the clouds on the third night of our stay.
Lower Floor Sofa, dining table and five chairs, smart TV with Netflix and YouTube, speaker, fully equipped kitchen, toilet cum shower, veranda, swing and 2 chairs
Upper Floor Queen size bed, 3 seater sofa, two 360 degree turn swivel adjustable reclining armchairs, sauna, toilet cum shower, back balcony with 2 chairs. I enjoyed the sauna on the upper floor.
My gripe is the surrounding has quite a lot of light pollution from the lighted road and neighbouring hotels and resorts. Other than the road, the other hotels and resorts should have a lights off policy so that it will make the surrounding more conducive for viewing the Aurora.
I found the price I paid for reasonable for an igloo house. I had an immensely enjoyable experience staying at Tundrea. It was my first igloo experience but definitely a very memorable one. Thank you to Sumali and Sauli for the...
Read moreJust had a wonderful 3 nights here staying in one of the apartments (apt 15). Food was lovely, apartment was nicely decorated and clean. The beds lovely and comfy. We stayed for a Christmas package and loved the activities. Travelled with transun in December and it was all very well organised and run. Peaceful, rural location with a shop on the doorstep and another hotel which served lovely hot chocolate. Perfect after a brisk walk in the Arctic temperatures!
Room has everything you need... towels, hair dryer and plenty for self-catering (which we did not use as we were full board) tv is in Finnish, so you may want to bring a tablet. There are sledges that you can use too, we loved sledging down the snowy hills near the lake.
Food was very nice. My brother was poorly on one of the mornings but the staff were happy to provide me with a take out box so I could take him something to eat back to the room. Nothing was too much trouble.
Would love to come back in the summer to experience the lake and the...
Read moreWe stayed in one igloo and it was amazing. Everything sparking clean, we had private sauna and direct view to see Aurora every night. The breakfast is simple and tasty, with a very good price. We really enjoyed staying here and strolling around, and the staff from the restaurant was super friendly and welcoming. We are super pleased with the experience here and we would definitely come back.
On top of the praising,😅 taking into consideration the price level for an igloo (€500 per night), I would have some recommendations: some coffee would be nice in the igloo, tea is already available it would be nice to have a hand towel also in the downstairs bathroom you should ask your guest if they need a cleaning in the 2nd day of staying. Maybe is not needed, but this service should be available some toothbrush support in the bathroom would be nice Small details that can make the whole experience really perfect.
Thank you and...
