The quality fluctuates depending on who's cooking. I came here 3 times. The first two had a slightly older man who was the cook and the last was a younger man.
The first time I came it was fantastic. Absolutely the best Thai food I've eaten. The pad thai was just nicely sauced, chicken was plentiful and the different flavours of sweet, sour, salty and spicy really melded well together. The green curry was the bomb too. Just awesome. Portions were unbelievable as well.
The second I came I had the red curry which was just as unbelievably tasty.
However my 3rd visit was an extreme let down. I had the pad thai again but it was oddly watery. The chicken pieces could be counted with a hand and it was bland. I didn't even take a picture because it looked so lacklustre.
If I were to rate based on the first two times I'd give it a full five stars and a couple more if i could. The last visit I'd only give...
Read moreThis place was delicious. You will not be disappointed at all. I ordered the Massaman curry kanaa. I asked for a little over medium heat. And it delivered, it was hot and I could feel the heat of the spice kick in after too. So good. And the variety of people in line ranged from artist hippy, couple of police, business woman and a couple families. This is a busy spot. And the service was quick. But i seen other folks who ordered their food after me get their food first. So maybe if in a rush. The Massaman dish might not be the best choice if you are in a hurry. But it is sooooo good.
Later on in the same day, I ordered a fried rice right before they closed (they stopped taking orders 10 minutes before closing). And it was good. But it’s flavor digs nothing really to make it stand out like the curry did. But a good tasting fried rice...
Read moreNow Thai in Town has been one of my favourite thai restaurants in Turku; unfortunately this morning's (well, I ordered them before noon, that's morning, right?) delivery via Foodora was just awful, a w f u l. Green Curry and Pad Thai, both with Chicken, were just way too strong in taste; not too much chili, maybe too much salt? Just unedible! The Pad Thai was hardly touched, and the Green Curry needed to be smothered in rice to be even remotely edible (I even cooked more rice to temper the taste!). Just no good. All five of us were disappointed (yeah, two portions for five - we have some extras when needed - like the extra rice, and the girls eat like birds). I hope this is not the new norm, but a one...
