Stunningly rude service. Probably the worse I've ever had in my life!
This is written to the service staff and supervisors of the buffet section of the restaurant and to their superiors if they ever get to read this ...
I initially wrote a very detailed long post that described a whole sequence of shockingly poor customer service I experienced - it was rude, arrogant and hostile and my hope is that it's source is from ignorance of what constitutes duty as opposed to a perverse need to dominate and humiliate - but then thought perhaps the source for their behaviour, for one staff involved at least, was ignorance, which while still bad, is more excusable than plain meaness .
Instead all I will say is this: customers expect that when their meal ticket says the meal is from 730 pm to 830 pm, they would expect the meals / dishes that they paid for to still be there at 815 pm except for the dishes that have been completely finished. It is normal for a customer to expect dishes that they paid for only to be removed at 830 pm customers expect common courtesies and not be be told things like, "you should know better" or "you should have asked around about this before you came" when you ask why dishes are cleared so far in advance of the end of their alloted, paid time slot when a customer asks you a question and you are clearing dishes and you are the only one in the room, please do answer and not ignore him not once, but several times while most customers can deal with ignorance from even senior staff, they often can't deal with arrogance and brusque demeaning behaviour it is ignorant to think you don't have to adhere to a contractual meal seating time of 730 pm to 830 pm but it is arrogance to expect your customer to accept your blatant disregard of those contractual terms if circumstances have made you into unpleasant serving staff or worse, supervisors, either get your senior management to change the contractual conditions in your meal ticket (as they asking for the impossible, operationally speaking) or as staff, change jobs.
Better to live pleasant happy lives than being mean and rude to innocent paying customers just because a customer doesn't arrive at the start of a session but at towards the end of one.
I do hope your meaness is due to work stress as opposed to you enjoying being demeaning to guests.
Whatever it is, do something about it. Customers who attend your restaurant and pay your salaries by doing so expect at least civil behaviour...especially when they came within the purchased meal time slot. So...
Read moreThis food court is located inside Singapore’s Night Safari, making it a convenient dining spot for visitors who feel hungry after the night tour. That said, the prices here are definitely higher than outside.
For example, while 10 sticks of chicken satay typically cost around $7.80 at regular food courts, here you’ll pay $9.80 for just 6 sticks. A bowl of duck noodles that would usually go for $4–6 outside is priced at $16.80 here — though to be fair, the portion of duck might be slightly more generous.
Most visitors to the Night Safari likely began their day early, having first explored the Bird Paradise, the main Singapore Zoo, and the Giant Panda Forest before ending up here. After a full day of walking, it’s understandable to crave a hot, comforting dinner — especially since any packed food would probably be cold by now.
Fortunately, the food served here is still authentic local cuisine. Although the prices are steep, the quality hasn’t been compromised. Plus, you get a chance to sit down and rest. After your meal, you can return to the Night Safari and take another ride on the tram.
Given how late it gets by this point in the day, it’s likely that restaurants in the city would already be closed. After all, this is a tourist attraction — so a lower value-for-money ratio is pretty...
Read moreThis review is limited to the Indian Buffet only.
In terms of service, the place is very good. Although our booking was from 9:30, the folks let us in at 8:30 only. The ambience is not very special. The buffet is somewhere in middle in terms of variety.. There were two vegetarian curries and two non veg curry.
The only bread available was Naan Bread which was horrible and you can't have it. Briyani rice (vegetarian) was very nice. They have good cut fruits available, two types of ice-cream and salad. The taste of the non veg curries was good but the taste of vegetarian curries was below average.
Thus with my one visit, I would say that the place is not much recommended for vegetarians. But if you want to have food near to night Safari, then it's one of the two...
