Le Maharajah — Restaurant in Évreux

We had lunch today. It was our second time. We eat Indian/Pakistani food everywhere we go. Rouen, Clermont, Beauvais, Gisors and Evreux. We've eaten at both the other Indian restaurants in Evreux as well. We went to England last month to eat only Indian food. So... we love dynamic intense flavors with clear, clean tastes and don't shy away from spices and heat. Going away, today's lunch was the best food of this kind we have eaten in France and that includes at least 100 meals. We had the mixed tandoor grill, plain naan, rice and palak paneer. The mixed grill included salmon, lamb, chicken and seekh kabob. We live 45 minutes away and don't enjoy the drive, but love the food. The 1/2 bottle of Muscadet was delicious. Okay, the coffee isn't as good as the food. One thing that would make the meal better is if it arrived very hot. It clearly was all freshly cooked, but some waited for other parts of the meal. In all an absolutely delicious Indian meal here in France where almost no one wants to deliver intense flavors. Thank you. We will be back again and again.

Nous avons déjeuné ici aujourd'hui. C'était la deuxième fois. Nous mangeons indien/pakistanais partout où nous allons : à Rouen, Clermont, Beauvais, Gisors et Évreux. Nous avons également testé les deux autres restaurants indiens d'Évreux. Le mois dernier, nous sommes allés en Angleterre uniquement pour manger indien. Bref, nous adorons les saveurs intenses et franches, et nous n'avons pas peur des épices et du piquant.

Pour conclure, le déjeuner d'aujourd'hui était le meilleur repas de ce type que nous ayons mangé en France, et pourtant, nous en avons mangé au moins une centaine ! Nous avons pris le tandoor mixte, du naan nature, du riz et du palak paneer. Le tandoor mixte comprenait du saumon, de l'agneau, du poulet et des seekh kebabs. Nous habitons à 45 minutes de là et le trajet est un peu long, mais la cuisine vaut vraiment le détour.

La demi-bouteille de muscadet était délicieuse.

Le café, par contre, n'était pas aussi bon que le repas.

Un petit plus : le repas aurait été qu'il soit servi bien chaud. Tout était manifestement fraîchement préparé, mais certains ont attendu la suite du repas.

En résumé, un délicieux repas indien ici en France, où rares sont les restaurants qui proposent des saveurs aussi prononcées.

Expensive for nothing good, ordered biryani, rice were of v bad quality, not properly cooked and never ate such a worse chicken, hard dry and some kinda smell, cannot explain, one of the plain naan was also uncooked, place is clean but extremely congested, not visiting again, 5 stars to the cleanliness but 0 to food, think before visiting if you are hungry and want to eat good food, not affordable but...

We asked the locals where to eat in Evreux, France & they highly recommended Le Maharajah - I had the most delicious Curry d’aubergine - one of the best curries I’ve ever eaten, I also had the Oignons Bhajia - they were light & delicate & the accompanying sauces were delightful- I highly recommend this as a fantastic vegan - friendly restaurant 💚...
