La piazzetta — Restaurant in Évry

What a pity! One should be warned if the fresh spaghetti and escalope de veau are served within hardly 15 minutes after ordering. A rather dull supermarket escalope with lukewarm spaghetti and a hot spaghetti with a lukewarm escalope (the gratinated cheese on top was hot), both not the treat we were hoping for. The buretta salad we ordered as a side dish was nice. We tried to get the attention of both the waiter and the waitress to ask for rewarming both dishes but right after serving the rush hour startrd. Customers stepping in, one by one filling the place, and both waiters had their hands full guiding everyone to their tables. We decided not to waste the lukewarm food and started eating, hoping for a moment to catch up with the staff. That moment never came and as the waiter didn't ask anything (just "terminé?") when he came to collect the dishes, we just ordered one espresso double and got 2 single espressos presented. Not a nice...

We tried this place primarily because it was one of the few restaurants surprisingly open until a bit later on Saturday around this area. We arrived at 10 pm (they close at 10:30 pm) and they accepted our order for takeaway.

I had a Quatre Fromages pizza. It was quite good, despite being Italian style (I normally don't like authentic Italian style pizza bases because the crust is too crispy while the base is too floppy, making the toppings fall off easily).

As a vegetarian, you have the following options (from the takeaway menu): Pizza options (4) - Margherita, Vegetarienne mixed vegetables, Quatre Fromage or Caprina. Pasta options (2) - a plain tomato and some spices or four cheeses. Salad - just 1 option.

The service was fast, the staff knew enough English to take our order and the pizza kept hot enough in the box...

Pizza's are good without being exceptional, friendly staff, and nice atmosphere (both in garden and inside). good value for money, but not an experience you'll remember. Still, if you're going for a quick pizza, this is an ok choice Beware: online reservations do not work. You do get a confirmation mail that "they're processing the request", but never get final confirmation. Upon calling the place, I just got a "that's normal, cause online doesn't work yet" answer. Maybe take it off the website then...
