Dodo Kitchen Restaurant — Restaurant in Aix-en-Provence

This is one of my absolute favorite places to eat in Aix. An authentic, colorful kitchen full of spices and cooked with passion. I’ve never been disappointed, not even once.

Although it’s not a full restaurant, you can eat there during weekday lunches, and the rest of the time it’s more of a takeaway spot or for pre-orders.

You can also order for parties, I did for my birthday, and everyone loved it! Samoussas, curries, dhal, even the desserts are delicious. Sometimes they also have tamarind or ginger juices.

And I can't say enough about the kindness of the couple who run the place. You’re welcomed with the same warmth and generosity you’d find in Mauritius … it’s truly special.

This place is phenomenal. The man is from Mauritius and his wife helps him cook. They always have a plat du jour that's absolutely delicious and only ten euros. Plats usually include a meat in a curry with a large portion of rice and sometimes vegetables. The portions are large enough for a meal but I definitely recommend tasting the fried sides like the samosas which are also great. I've come here many times and didn't even realize until later that they don't even serve pork or beef (and I love to eat meat by the way). Can't recommend this...

Quelle perle ce petit resto! Je n’habite pas à Aix, j’y enseigne de temps à autre, et je ne voulais tellement pas finir une longue journée de cours par un fast food - j’ai cherché en ligne des plats cuisinés à emporter et la découverte a été assez incroyable! D’abord le service - quand on appelle, ca répond, horaire d’ouverture ou pas tout à fait. La cuisine est fermée mais on s’arrange pour me trouver une solution et on attend que je passe la chercher. Ensuite l’accueil avec le sourire, la bonne humeur et le repas chaud, préparé sur place. Pour finir, je rentre à l’hôtel et je goûte et … qu’est-ce que c’est bon!!! Juste assez relevé pour que tous les goûts ressortent, c’est délicieux!!! On ajoute à cela un prix plus que raisonnable et on ne trouve rien à redire! C’est tellement bon que j’y retourne le lendemain à midi et je commande pour ma famille. J’embarque le tout parfaitement bien emballé à bord de mon tgv et deux heures plus tard c’est encore chaud! Mes enfants ont adoré! Franchement à Aix c’est là que je mangerai désormais! Ce n’est pas un grand restaurant gastronomique, mais moi je n’ai pas besoin de plus et pour les prix affiché, c’est mille fois mieux qu’une pizza...
