La Terrasse Provençale — Restaurant in Aix-en-Provence

I was very disappointed in the food. I got the samosas which were cased in a soggy, oily egg roll wrapper instead of a pastry. The side salad was over dressed and almost every piece of lettuce was wilted and brown on the end. We got a beautiful looking basket of 3 different breads. But 2 out of 3 were dense, heavy and gummy. My husband had the onion tart which had no discernable cheese in it or on it. It was very sweet and thick. More like onion pie. It could have used some tangy goat cheese on it to balance...

Beautiful spot with nice regional dishes. Lovely atmosphere with live jazz. We went last Tuesday and the service was good. We went there again tonight and unfortunately the service was very poor. Teenage waiters and waitresses seemed to find it funny ignoring customers. The Terrance bistro would be greatly improved with an experienced adult manager asking customers how their meals are going and making sure their teen staff are working and not just chatting to each other. Easy to improve on. Hire one...

Good: excellent ambiance and beautiful chateau. Bad: very limited menu, no kids menu Ugly: very poor service. 185 euro bill for lunch and had to ask server to bring bread, water and plates. Asked for bill and was told to walk to front where briefly ignored then loud laughing and finally presented the bill. While I may be an American, I know this is subpar for French culture. Please hire and train staff properly....
