Alta Vista restaurant — Restaurant in Ajaccio

I came here for dinner because this restaurant boasts a good view! We were able to have a beautiful dinner overlooking the sunset, which was very romantic. I think this was the best part about my dinner to be honest. The staff was very nice and accommodating. And I appreciated them very much for accommodating my limited French. We all ordered mojitos, which were delicious! I’d recommend the passion fruit and mango mojitos for sure!

As for our meal, the appetizers were better than the main course. I like the tuna tartare the most. The zucchini fritters were just okay. I wish the octopus salad came with more seasoning but it was plain and had way too much oil on it.

Now onto the entrees. Only one person in our party liked her dish, which was the fish and risotto. I ordered the calamari stuffed with veal and beef, which unfortunately was not that good. The squid also did not have a good texture and did not taste fresh. My other friend got the crab linguini and the flavor profile was off. Neither of us finished our dishes and were very disappointed. A “mild” 5 star rather than an enthusiastic one, but nonetheless it gets five, especially since other places I have tried here are not nearly as good. Nice ambiance, great view. Very good food, albeit on the slightly expensive side. Avoid on Friday or Saturday night if you don’t like music from nearby discos, but Sunday evening perfect. Very attentive service, copious serving of the octopus salad, which was fresh. The grilled sea bass was good, a decent enough portion with a tasty ratatouille and potato purée, nicely presented. Je rejoins quelques avis concernant le rapport qualité-prix... Ne mérite pas une telle note sur Google ! Langouste remplacée par gambas mais tout de même 24€ pour l'entrée. Finalement choix de la carte bien réduit. Sole meunière affichée à 11€/100g mais personne nous demande la portion que l'on souhaite... Finalement on me dit que la sole pèse environ 500g mais pas avérée puisque c'est du "à peu près", entière ou défaite ?nous ne savons pas ? 55€ pour une sole meunière fris accompagnée de riz, je comprend maintenant pourquoi le prix est affiché pour 100g...on a connu beaucoup plus élaboré pour ce prix là.

Bref, restaurant qui veut se la jouer "gastronomique" mais ce n'est que du tape à l'oeil... Le contenu dans l'assiette est bien loin de là, d'ailleurs assiette ébréchée, c'est moyen pour un lieu soit disant de "standing" .Nous avons renoncé au dessert suite à tout ça.

J'ajoute que le site internet n'est pas à jour, il serait bien que ce le soit pour un début de saison...

Bref, si vous ne voulez pas perdre de l'argent inutilement, ne vous y arrêtez pas ! 80€ par personne tout de même pour un verre, entrée et plat qui ne sont pas à...
