l'écrin — Restaurant in Ajaccio

What an experience! 5 stars here don't do justice to this place, I wish I could give more.

We've been delighted from the first moment until the end. Everything was perfect. The food was exceptional, it is clearly worth a Michelin star (although they don't offer Menu dégustation). We've been so impressed with the chef creativity and choice of ingredients. Every dish had something exceptional. One thing that particularly impressed me is that I told them I don't eat cheese and they adapted even the amuse bouche for me, it was such a nice touch (which happened to me only once before in a Michelin star restaurant, even 2-stars ones don't adapt anything - so this was greatly appreciated). The service was outstanding too. And the most surprising thing was that it was very affordable for what they offer (we got pizza/starters/dessert for almost the same price a day before in Ajaccio). Although we enjoyed the city a lot while visiting, this restaurant is still the highlight of our stay. Thank you to the chef...

Thomas was excellent, his service was impeccable and even though we had a misunderstanding for the appetisers, he took it upon himself to correct the order rapidly and with all smiles. He even offered a second serving of bread and their very excellent butter after we commented that we liked it a lot. He also accommodated our sharing requests by providing us with serving plates. His attitude was also exceptional and made us feel very satisfied.

The food was great, interesting mix of flavours, the escargots and ceviche were really good, and they also offered a very generous and delicious serving of duck breast.

Overall a 5 out of 5, Thomas also spoke really good English!! We really discovered a nice gem of a restaurant for our only...

We went to L'ÉCRIN restaurant for dinner and enjoyed a very outstanding six course surprise menu. The interior of the restaurant looks very anppea and welcoming and the service was very attentive. Every course was very well explained. With a lot of attention to detail and nuances of flavors this mere with some phantastic local wine made it a very special rememberable dining experience. We were really surprised by the craftsmanship of this talented chef as every dish was just a creation of flavors and interesting ingredients. You would not easily find a restaurant up to this level and we enjoyed every course. L'ÉCRIN clearly deserves a Michelin star and we certainly will come back the next time...
