For the first time this year, I was disappointed with our annual visit. This has been my go-to spot since 2018, a place I loved recommending and coming back to, but unfortunately, the magic is almost gone. The 2 owners are still there at the entrance—kind, smiling, and friendly as always—but 3 things need improvement: The service felt rushed, impatient, and at times even mocking. The food is good, but the price is hard to justify given the portion sizes and presentation, which, with simple salad leaves, feels more like a basic brasserie than a premium experience. The atmosphere—while the location is stunning, the experience now feels like a tour operator visit, with photographers and musicians moving from table to table, adding to the bill through tips. I love this place, and it’s sad to see it becoming standardized like so many other high-altitude restaurants that focus more on showmanship than on what truly matters. Read moreWe absolutely loved it here. Didn't book as we didn't know what mountain we'd end up at for lunch but they had a table for us in a lovely area right by the cake display, which by the way, is fabulous! I had a lovely non alcoholic cocktail, perfectly cooked chicken and of course a beautiful Choux pastry. The staff were friendly and not pretentious even though it's a pretty posh place. There was a lovely vibe with music from the DJ and then a live band going around to each table with either French or English requests and everyone seemed like they were having a lovely relaxed time. The best restaurant I've been to so far...

If you are in the 3 Valleys for a holiday, do not miss the chance to visit La Cave Des Creux, at least once. Yes; of course you can find cheaper lunches on the mountain, but it’s worth spending a little more to get the vastly better quality offered here. Overall, it’s actually much better value for money.
The service and the standard of food on offer is in a different league to most of the competition.
I recommend skiing the Roc Mugnier piste 5 times immediately before lunch, to build up an appetite and justify your dessert. Then take the Aiguille du Fruit chairlift and make your way to the restaurant for a long, and indulgent lunch break.
Budget £50-£60 per head for lunch...
