Le Piaf Val d’Isere — Restaurant in Albertville

It's a nice place, but not relative to the cost, even for Val d'isaire. Hot chocolate was initially quoted at 10€, which is expensive, but just about acceptable for the area. We were asked if we wanted cream, which we did. At no point were we told it was 2€ extra for some cream from a can. So for a simple hot chocolate, which wasn't especially good, each was 12€. A bit annoying, but not enough to warrant a 2* review. The thing that kicks it down, is the general over all atmosphere, which doesn't warrant the added expense. The table cloths were dirty, the toilets were of similar quality to a large chain burger restaurant and the staff were average, not rude, but not particularly nice. For 48€ for 4 simple hot chocolates you would expect the atmosphere, tableware and staff to be better than average, hence a below...

Our night was put off with the terrible, rude and impolite hostess. We had specifically booked early in January for a night in March and requested the table in the centerpiece which was confirmed and only to find at our arrival that we were put in the top corner with no visibility into the show. The hostess then proceeded to blaming me for not requesting and when i showed her the reservation there was no apology and she was speechless. We were then promised a table downstairs after dinner but this table was given to another group that came after us and having questioned the receptionist again there was no response. Really looked forward to our visit and unfortunately had such a bad experience. Worst service ever, our waitress was extremely rude. Everyone can have a bad day but this felt more like a bad attitude (my cousin, a 18 year old daredevil, was scared to ask for mayonnaise). We ordered a bottle of wine which was placed on our table unopened. When our food arrived (after waiting an hour and a half), most of it was cold, except the salads and steak tartare, which are cold dishes to begin with. I’ve never send back food before, but eating raw / cold chicken is a bit too much to take.
