La Bekaa — Restaurant in Angers

I went there with my friend.We are muslim so we only ordered appetisers..( meze) They are delicious .The place is calm. There are two important points I must share here as well. 1-There is only staff ( the owner of the restaurant , waiter, cook , I don,t his position ) So service is a bit slow. 2-When we ate our food and walked to pay the bill , I took one piece of paper tissue from the table next to the person.He told me that you had to ask if you want anything else..Tissue was 20 cent extra .This was not important but you can,t touch anything without asking And started to give me "cultural lesson."😊 .I was surprised because this was the first time I heard this kind of warning .He could be more polite to say his thoughts and rules.And I didn,t need to take a lesson So we discussed .I have been in many countries ,especially European Countires, I have never met like a this situation before. I didn,t pass his private section in the restaurant or I didn,t take any kitchen utensils or food or drink....Just one paper tissue .. That,s it. I have my own restaurant and a boutique hotel in Cappadocia ,Turkey. So we have some principles of course.So Le Bekaa restaurant will have some of course.But paper tissue mustn,t be...

Une horreur... J'ai été mieux reçu dans une préfecture à 16h59...

Arrivés à 2 vers 20h00 au restaurant, 3 clientes déjà installées (pour une vingtaine de tables au total dans le resto), le patron nous propose une table collée à la leur. Je lui demande gentilment d'aller plutôt un peu plus loin. Pendant que les cartes sont encore en main, une famille avec 2 enfants arrive, le patron les assoie à la table la plus proche de nous...

On commande le mezzé, et surprise dans la minute qui suit, le patron reviens avec les plats froids, et les plats (censés être) chauds ! Plus rapide qu'un Kebab !

Résultat : falafels froid au centre qui sentent le surgelé, 2 minuscule bouts de poulets au citron (tellement petits qu'on a même pas partagé) houmous flasque, même le basique de Leclerc ou carrefour présente mieux Fatouche avec tomate translucide de cantine et salade pas fraîche pain sec ... La délicate impression que tout sort d'une boîte de conserve, et pas du haut de gamme. Donc 40€ pour moins bien manger qu'un apéro à 15€ dans la grande surface du coin, non merci.

PETIT BONUS : à partir de 20h30 le patron viens toutes les 2 minutes demander si "c'est fini? " alors que la moitié des plats ne sont ostensiblement pas terminés... Après 5 demandes (donc 10minutes plus tard) il nous indique qu'il va emmener les plats fini ou non car "il faut fermer la cuisine" Les 3 clients sont déjà partis, la famille termine vite, nous laissons nos plats.

Oui, pour moi, la Bekaa...

Great restaurant, cool Ambiente. The waiters and cook seems to be a Lebanese family, they were all very helpful and friendly. The food was great, we had the selection of small plates "Meza" all were great, my favorite has to be hommes, and the fatosch. Definitely recommend it if you're interested in middle...
