We arrived here on market day without a reservation but they found us a table upstairs on the landing which wasn’t to our taste. The owner was very accommodating and relocated us in the upstairs dining area without fuss. We were offered an English menu as well as a French one (there appeared to be more choice on the French one, so worth deciphering if you can). We chose the set lunch menu which appeared to be good, traditional home cooking and very reasonably priced. I had the mushroom risotto whilst my husband had the beef on a bed of vegetables and we both had the fruit tart for dessert. Basic cooking with good quality ingredients. The wine was superb. My only regret is that we were heading north so could not stay to sample dinner. The owner was so friendly and joked along with us with his limited English and our even more so limited French. The beer I got served was stale, and I still don't know what it was. I had to remind the waiter that we ordered wine, so half the dinner was spend without wine. Food was excellent, my wife found the meat planche a bit too much, but my three course menu was just right and prices were very reasonable, around £30 each with a couple of wines and coffees.
