La Taverne in Aubeterre-sur-Dronne is an absolute gem that keeps us coming back time and again. Nestled in the heart of the charming village, right across from the iconic L’église Souterraine, this restaurant offers a delightful blend of rustic charm and authentic cuisine that truly embodies the spirit of the region🫶
From the moment we arrive, we’re always greeted with warm smiles and top-notch service✨ The staff at La Taverne are exceptionally friendly and professional, making us feel welcome every time. It's also incredibly dog-friendly, which is a huge plus for us. Our golden retriever loves the ambiance just as much as we do, and the staff always make a fuss over him, which adds to the overall welcoming atmosphere🥂
The food at La Taverne is consistently delicious, and the variety on the menu keeps things exciting. We've tried several dishes, and they never disappoint. The creamy, indulgent pasta topped with fresh arugula, the perfectly baked cheese with a side salad, and the delectable crème brûlée are just a few highlights from our recent visits. The food presentation is always beautiful, and you can tell that a lot of care goes into preparing each dish.
Dining here is always a pleasure, whether we're seated on the spacious summer terrace, enjoying the covered veranda, or relaxing in one of the intimate dining rooms.
Overall, La Taverne offers a perfect blend of traditional French cuisine, warm hospitality, and a dog-friendly environment that keeps us coming back for more. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this restaurant is a must-visit when in Aubeterre-sur-Dronne. We can’t wait for our...
Read moreI won't come back. We reserved for 10+a baby with highchair, and when we came it was impossible to put the baby near the table to eat (no tabletray). Then we ordered fois gras with gelée monbazillac, it was good but the gelée was missing, when I asked where it was on the plate, he came back and answered: you are right, there is none. (No excuse). I was looking forward to try it... well still haven't. The food otherwise was good. Some dishes tough were huge, the salads for example with a lot of meat (same amount as the foie gras entrée for only 2 Eur more you get way more... ) And next to it the fish and the canard had hardly any sides and people were still hungry after their meal. Just to finish, I want to comment as well that in Corona Times i wish they would take less people, the restaurant terasse was overcrowded, no meter between our chairs and the ones behind us. Also it started raining a little and our table was between two sun stores, the ones in the middle got wet. They tried to fix this with a tiny sun-umbrella. ... anyway I know its hard to satisfy a big group, bit this was catastrophic.
To summarize: bad service not childfriendly not corona friendly portions sizes very small except on...
