Chez Ma Cousine — Restaurant in Annecy

I normally don’t write a bad review but this is way too expensive for what is its worth! Went to the restaurant without a reservation, the welcome was friendly and we sat down at a table near the water. After ordering the main courses ( we had the roasted pork ribs and the steak tartar) we were extremely disappointed. The pork was really dry and the steak tartar was way too chewy. We addressed this to the waiter and manager, the waiter came back to the table and said that is was a mistake from the chef, however this mistake wasn’t compensated by the manager in any way. I even addressed the problem when I payed for the dinner and the manager said this was the normal quality they served. Final conclusion: the quality of the food was WAY to low for what it was worth!!!! Anyway don’t go...

Incredible location with stunning "pieds dans l'eau" views. Great service and fantastic food at lunch or dinner. Not "haute gastronomy" but excellent refreshing food that one can eat regularly. The chef utilises a broad mix of local and regional seasonal ingredients that are prepared and served with professionalism, style and care. Highly recommended and far better quality and more fun than some of the pretentious eateries around the lake. Happily there's also several mooring points and a large pontoon for boat access if you're travelling over the lake rather than by road...a rarity around the lake as the authorities seem foolishly intent on reducing lake side access to...

My husband and I visited this restaurant one afternoon in August. Our meal was well prepared and tasty and we could enjoy the beautiful terrace overlooking the lake. However, the service was unexpectedly rude. The waiter brought our 2 glasses of wine with the following accompaniment: "Et 2 verres de vin pour les demoiselles - And 2 glasses of white wine for the ladies'. During the meal he stopped by: "Tout va bien, les dames?- Everything ok , ladies'?'" We are not easily upset and when you are on holiday you do not seek confrontation, but afterwards this incident stayed with us .... Gay-friendly? Not really. So no dessert and no coffee.
