I don't understand the excellent reviews for this restaurant.
We chose this place based on the great reviews, but the food was pretty poor...
We expected the foie appetizer to be the warm version based on the description, but instead, we were served a cold foie terrine containing lots of vessels and connective parts :|.
My husband's steak was okay, but so thin that they couldn't cook it medium rare as there was simply not enough mass.
We both agreed that the fries that came with the steak were the highlight. I only wish Parisians used mayo but that never seems to be available in the city haha.
I choose the pasta of the day, which was supposed to be a creamy seafood pasta with shrimp and veggies. This dish was an utter abomination. I can't believe they weren't too embarrassed to bring this out, just based on the smell alone - it was like the inside of a poorly managed brothel. The sauce wasn't creamy at all nor was there much of it as the penne looked sad and dry. I ate a few bites, but that horrible smell permeated everything. It was also odd that there were some whole shrimps mixed up with some cut up ones. Makes me wonder if they repurposed some leftovers... I guess I learned here that you should never order a "special of the day" anything!
After sharing the steak, we ran up to the counter, paid and left immediately, so we wouldn't have to look the waiter in the face when he came to pick up a full dish of the pasta.
I am giving them 3 stars instead of 2 because service was very very friendly, especially helping me with my...
Read moreEXCELLENT SPOT !! Professional and friendly staff, I Had lunch with my spouse on the terrasse, our waiter was super nice, and hooked us up with an incredible cote de boeuf, fantastic quality, the fries were out of this world, perfectly crispy, flavorful and definitely homemade, hard to stop eating them. The BĂ©arnaise sauce was off the chains, we couldn't stop eating it with our fries. We started of the meal with an ultra fresh and refreshing cucumber feta salad, great to start. The whole meal was accompanied with a Red Haute CĂŽtes de Beaune. Price was really fair and service was impeccable thanks to our waiter Max ( I think this was his name.. we almost drank the whole bottle.. please forgive me if I messed up your name!
