I'll try and express in words how my palate is soothed after a long day at the Sanctuary here in Lourdes. The Amma Sri Lankan/Indian restaurant just keeps improving over the years! Their generous helpings of succulent curried vegetables keep changing daily are much appreciated after a busy day at the Grotte. As you walk into this non delightful restaurant you are walking into the world of aromas enough to die for. Their welcome is from their hearts-the ambience satisfying. All food is made with your health in mind. Tonight I had Kingfish curry, with two vegies, rice and raita.Other popular dishes here are chicken or lamb biriyani, masal dosa, vegetarian dinner, homemade parottas made fresh every day. Also served mergaz/frites ,kebobs with rice and salad for those that want a change from the curries. All dishes are between 5 to 10 euros. Next time you're in Lourdes for your Pilgrimage please be sure to make a trip to Amma Restaurant not even 100 meters from...

Went for brunch. Came back for dinner and thought may as well do breakfast. I was transported back to India, terrible decor - delicious masala tea, tasty simple food and a lovely couple who run it. A great suprise in a city that's abit bonkers
Edit. (August 23)
I can't believe the amount of bad reviews on here since my last visit. I know Lourdes has its fair share of crack pots but do they all eat here? Why do people pointlessly moan. Get a life!
Anyway I find myself in Lourdes again (praise be) for afew hours waiting for a train so head to my favourite restaurant. Nothings changed. Still wonderful food and great prices. The owner doesn't say much but that's fine by me I'm not here to make friends just eat lovely grub. The masala dosa is a joy.

My dad had requested a small bowl of chicken curry (just curry, no meat) because the rice was dry, which the owner said was free. The owner then attempted to casually charge me 7€ for it (for context, a regular dish costs ~10€). When my dad came to inquire, he pretended it was an honest mistake.
Regarding the food: We had a mixed vegetable curry, a masala chicken and a cup of spiced tea.
The chicken was terrible. It came without rice, looked NOTHING like its advertized picture, and honestly just tasted like 8 tiny chunks of haphazardly fried chicken breast with a few raw onion slices tossed in as an afterthought. It cost 10€.
The tea came in a tiny paper cup and cost 2.50€.
The vegetable curry was fine.
Perhaps others were treated better, but this was one of my worst dining...
