Tldr; Fantastic home cooking. Every dish is a must-try 😋 for the subtle tastes - Dewel🤤, Chicken noodles, Kottu, biryani rice with chicken 🤤, coconut sap pancakes. 😐 Really, come here! What'ya still reading this for? Oh, right. Read the rest of this review if you're not there yet. Then Go! Won't regret it. Trust me.🤞🏻👍🏻
Had a delicious dinner here, of Dewel with white rice. Especially like the spicy beef Dewel, and totally love the accompanying white rice, which has a particular fragrance to it (really, try it!). I'd rate the Dewel-rice combi 2 tongues 😋😋. 😂. Also Chicken noodles with vegetables which was tasty, and you Must try the chillies... Arrrrrgh, so good! 😅 😋
Returned another day for lunch for the Kottu; we missed it previously due to its limited quantities. Hint: go for lunch, maybe at 1pm to get first (early?) dibs on it. Tip: eat the Kottus hot when they come (really, forget the other stuff on the table) 🤔 (for a while), to be able to savour the differences in texture in the whole Kottu pieces, and the different tastes of those cut up and cooked with other ingredients. When it cools down, they seem to taste and feel the same.
Also had the biryani rice with chicken. Heavenly 👼🏻. Subtle but quite Distinct from the South East Asian versions (Singapore, Malaysia), spicy, yet easy on the palate. Highly, highly recommended! 3 tongues 😋😋😋.
Desserts were the coconut sap pancakes. 🤤 'nuff said (drooled?). I found this particular version has distinctly subtle shades in taste (coconut sap and pancake), and with the floral accents in the honey was a perfect round-off for the meal. Happy campers, we were. 🦦 😄
Just come. Eat ... (stops writing. thinking of Dewel, biryani, salivating to the memory of chicken noodles, smells coconut sap and ...

Just a heads-up: if you’re looking for Indian food, this isn’t the place, because Sri Lankan cuisine is completely different. Also, if you’re someone who likes to eat in a rush (expecting food in 10 minutes), then go to KFC or McDonald’s.
This restaurant is for people who appreciate good food and take their time to enjoy it. Our meal took about 30 minutes to prepare since we were five people, but the woman managed everything so well that it honestly felt like only 15 minutes.
The food is amazing. The best Sri Lankan restaurant I can recommend in France. The falooda was sooooooooooooooooooooooo good ,it tasted exactly like what we used to drink in Sri Lanka!
The atmosphere is nice, calming, and lovely. Also, please make a reservation , it really helps the staff, and it’s simply polite to do so.
💯💯💯 The food was so good that I completely forgot to...
Read moreAfter days of traveling, on our European adventure, taking in the sights, hopping cities, and eating our way through countless restaurants, we arrived in Lourdes. As much as we enjoyed the adventure, we were tired of reading menus and deciding what to eat. All we really wanted was some warm, comforting, home-cooked food. And then, as if God sent, we discovered a small, home-style Sri Lankan restaurant, run by a lovely lady called Dianne, who’s been living in Lourdes for the past 38 years. From the moment we stepped in, it felt like we were back in Srilanka. The food? It's incredible. Honestly, it was better than what I had in a 5* hotel on my last trip to SL! We ended up eating there every single day during our stay. Each meal was cooked with so much love and authenticity. And beyond the food, her warmth and hospitality made it feel like we were dining at a relative’s home, not a restaurant. Lourdes was already a meaningful part of our journey, but this unexpected discovery turned it into one of the most memorable stops of the whole...
