We stopped off at Chez Paulette in EygaliĂšres for a late lunch and found it to be an overall average experience. For starters, we had the tuna sashimi and tomato buffalo mozzarella with pear. Both dishes were decent, but nothing particularly stood out.

For our main courses, we tried the beef villette with chips and salad, as well as the monkfish and prawns with rice and curry sauce. Again, while the presentation was appealing, the flavours were somewhat underwhelming. The dishes were satisfactory but lacked the exceptional quality we were hoping for.

For dessert, we opted for the chocolate mousse with orange glaze and the citron lemon meringue pie. Similar to the rest of the meal, the desserts were good but didn’t quite wow us.

The atmosphere was pleasant, especially the inside dining area where we sat since the outdoor courtyard was full. However, despite the lovely setting, the food just didn’t quite hit the mark for us.

Overall, I'm not saying don’t eat here—it might appeal to others—but it didn’t quite suit our taste buds. The experience was okay, but not something we’d...

Unfortunately we didn’t have a very positive experience at the Paulette restaurant on a Saturday in June 2025 !

Food was very average, not hot and also not very well cooked. One of us had one scoop of ice cream ordered for dessert. He got a very small scoop in a glass , no decoration or anything, for 4,-€! We also felt stressed during our stay and not very well taken care of. We were given the menues by one girl
. 30 seconds later another one came asking us what we would like to have. I would expect this at a fast food restaurant!

Owner couple went hand - shaking from table to table
. I assume it’s a bit of a place to be and to be seen. People might come anyway
. despite the low food quality and the not so friendly staff.

Wouldn’t recommend this place - ...

Chez Paulette is an Eygalieres institution -- not the fanciest restaurant in town but the most popular, with food that’s a little disappointing but am atmosphere that sort of makes up for it.

It's larger than it appears, with outdoor tables stretching around the side and across the street to the restaurant's bar.

The service is excellent and attentive, and the atmosphere is perfect. That's why people come here and linger.

The menu is good too, but the food itself was just ok. Perfectly fine, and fresh, and reasonably priced, but a little over dressed and under seasoned, and meat dishes overcooked.

I'd give Chez Paulette 3 stars for food, but 5 stars for...

We had a lovely lunch here - sat in the sun (our choice - there were plenty of shady spots on either side of the road). Chez Paulette is on a pretty, traditional Provence village road. The staff and decor were nice. Service was friendly and quick despite it being quite busy when we arrived. We had a delicious glass of white wine each (they only had the one option) and were given some black olives. We chose the day's special lunch option which was a white fish and leek lasagne followed by a crĂšme brulee. Both courses were fantastic. Good portions and really tasty. This is the sort of restaurant we wanted to visit on our honeymoon here and we recommend it highly!
