We stopped off at Chez Paulette in EygaliĂšres for a late lunch and found it to be an overall average experience. For starters, we had the tuna sashimi and tomato buffalo mozzarella with pear. Both dishes were decent, but nothing particularly stood out.
For our main courses, we tried the beef villette with chips and salad, as well as the monkfish and prawns with rice and curry sauce. Again, while the presentation was appealing, the flavours were somewhat underwhelming. The dishes were satisfactory but lacked the exceptional quality we were hoping for.
For dessert, we opted for the chocolate mousse with orange glaze and the citron lemon meringue pie. Similar to the rest of the meal, the desserts were good but didnât quite wow us.
The atmosphere was pleasant, especially the inside dining area where we sat since the outdoor courtyard was full. However, despite the lovely setting, the food just didnât quite hit the mark for us.

Owner couple went hand - shaking from table to table âŠ. I assume itâs a bit of a place to be and to be seen. People might come anyway âŠ. despite the low food quality and the not so friendly staff.
Wouldnât recommend this place - ...

The service is excellent and attentive, and the atmosphere is perfect. That's why people come here and linger.
The menu is good too, but the food itself was just ok. Perfectly fine, and fresh, and reasonably priced, but a little over dressed and under seasoned, and meat dishes overcooked.
I'd give Chez Paulette 3 stars for food, but 5 stars for...
