The restaurant left us with mixed feelings. We went there to celebrate a romantic birthday as a couple. The atmosphere was pleasant, the food tasty and interesting. However, the portions were very small, more like tasting portions, and we would have liked to try 4-5 dishes to feel satisfied. But we were immediately warned that today they could offer a maximum of 3 courses. Okay, we agreed, no complaints. There were also several miniature appetizers as a gift, which was nice. But towards the end, the visit dragged on as we couldn't wait to be billed. After asking for the bill, we waited for about 30 minutes, watching as the waitress did everything but present us with the bill. Only one other couple remained besides us. The waitress was clearing tables, packing cheese into packets, preparing tables for the next day, without paying any attention to us. We tried to catch her eye, waved our hands, but she was busy. Maybe after about 40 minutes, we managed to get her attention. But we were already slightly irritated. Conclusion: if you have plenty of time, you're not very hungry, and you want something fancy, you can give it a try.

Probably the best restaurant you can find in this area. We stayed at L’Ermitage and had our dinner here. They have many set menu options and we went with a 3-course menu with an addition of a cheese plate. I wish they could be more transparent on the price of the champagnes served at the beginning, before the menu was offered.

A Hidden Gem in Mont Saint Michel – A Must-Visit Experience

We visited here from Porto-Portugal. Our evening at L'Ermitage Mont Saint Michel was nothing short of exceptional, from the moment we were picked up to the last bite of dessert. Struggling to find a taxi in Mont Saint Michel, we were pleasantly surprised when the restaurant offered us a van. A very elegant monsieur came to pick us up, setting the tone for the impeccable service that awaited us.

The restaurant’s décor exudes true French charm, with a perfect blend of elegance and warmth. From start to finish, our meal was a gastronomic journey. The oyster entrée with spirulina sauce was an unforgettable highlight, and the playful surprises from the chef between courses added a delightful touch. Each dish was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, harmonizing perfectly with the delicate ambiance of the restaurant.

We had the pleasure of dining with a view of the serene hotel garden, which only enhanced the experience. The bar also crafted the perfect aperitif, adding to the overall sophistication of the evening.

However, what truly stood out was the exceptional service we received from the lady attending our table. Her elegance, calm demeanor, and thorough explanations elevated our dining experience to another level. Her charm and professionalism left such a lasting impression that, even after visiting numerous fine dining establishments during our eight-day stay in Brittany, we kept reminiscing about her service. She exemplifies what service in fine dining should be and could easily teach a masterclass on the subject.

Our evening concluded as it began, with the same monsieur taking us back to our hotel. His elegance and warmth were the perfect end to a memorable night.

Thank you, L'Ermitage Mont Saint Michel, for a truly remarkable evening. If you find yourself near Mont Saint Michel, do yourself a favor and dine at this hidden beauty of France. It’s an experience you...

Niks was minder waar.
