Brasserie La Plage — Restaurant in Béziers

Went with my family for a last dinner of our stay in Agde, the food was horrendous. I’ve had fish and chips, fish wasn’t fresh, just a cheap, frozen probably the cheapest you can get in a supermarket. Tastes like cardboard. I was expecting a fresh fish in batter and breadcrumbs. There’s was none of it, My daughter ordered pasta, it wasn’t good. When complained about the food, was rushed as all the waiters were cleaning the tables to get rid of us as soon as possible. I knew from the beginning that the food will be poor, as it didn’t take 5 minutes to cook 5 different dishes for my family. Someone said you cant eat badly in France, well I disagree, how can moules be cooked so wrongly, when I told the waiter the merinier should be cooked in wine ,cream etc, he said no they were cooked in what looked like dishwater, and the biggest insult came when he said, I will get them re-made, he returned in less than two minutes with the same moules with cream dribbled over , as if he was serving apple pie, so farcical should have taken a photo, my partners fish and chips were covered in something like filo not the advertised breadcrumbs, and the fish was definitely frozen, absolute...

Axel, our waiter, was very kind, helpful and funny! (And he knew English 👍) We would definitely come back! The food was wonderful! We spent 70 € for two adults and two kids. That’s quite alright. Kids had kids menus, and we had beef steak and buffalo pizza with drinks. We sat directly on the beach walk with a wonderful view. Everything was perfect. There is nothing to complain about, we are even surprised about how great it was. 3,9 rating is definitely NOT...
