We placed a large takeaway order from La Fourchette Libanaise in Agde — around €140 worth of delicious-looking mezze. Everything smelled amazing and we were ready for a proper Lebanese feast… until we realized: where’s the pita bread?
For that amount of food, we got three lonely little pieces of pita fighting for survival at the bottom of the bag. Definitely not enough to go with all the hummus, baba ghanoush, and other spreads.
Thinking it must’ve been a simple oversight, we went back to kindly ask for more. But instead of a friendly “of course,” we got… an extra charge for the bread. Seriously? After a €140 order?
The food was good, no doubt — but charging extra for pita in a mezze meal feels a bit like charging extra for chopsticks at a sushi bar. A small thing, but it left a bad taste.
Would love to come back, but next time, we’ll plan our own bread…...
