Nice early December Wednesday evening here. The couple took over the resto 5-months ago, completely redecorated; we loved the ambiance. We started with padron peppers done fantastically - not greasy and just the right amount of finishing salt. Green olives… you’ve never had any like this! Tuna tartare in a delicious and unusual sauce with pomme frites (back of the photo), and filet de bar (sea bass) in a light beurre blanc sauce. The owner happily gave me more salad versus potatoes. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening and will be back our next visit. Merci, Eskerrik asko, Obrigado !

Habitués de l'ancien Café de la Plage, où il était possible de déjeuner au soleil dans une ambiance sympathique et sans prétention, cet endroit a bien changé! Adieu les salades copieuses et les plats très bon rapport qualité/prix, il ne reste plus que le nom, qui lui n'a pas changé. Nous n'étions pas au courant du changement de propriétaires, et nous avons été désagréablement surpris à la lecture de la nouvelle carte. Une salade gourmande pour 23 € !!! : de la salade, un quart de tomate coupé en mille morceaux, des oignons, des morceaux de jambon, et un pauvre bout de foie gras sans même un toast avec !!!!! Jugez par vous même avec la photo du plat tel qu'il m'a été servi. Je n'ose même pas parler du prix des boissons, un pichet d'eau a bien fait l'affaire pour nous... Serveuse qui vous prévient qu'il y a de l'attente, car je cite "je préfère prévenir car il ne s'agira pas de râler après car c'est long!". Déçu par le plat, par le service (mieux vaut aller chercher le pain soi-même que d'attendre qu'on vous l'apporte...), et par les attitudes hautaines auxquelles nous n'étions tellement pas habitués auparavant. Les touristes, eux, apprécieront certainement cet endroit. Nous les locaux, on boycotte. Merci et au revoir.

Exceptional basque cuisine from a family owned restaurant, we trusted their suggestions, and they were all the choises great. The starter, main dishes, the wine, the dessert!!! The best dinner we had in our 7-day trip in Basque country. The service was just perfect , lovely warm people and the atmosphere relaxed, romantic with interesting deco details. We really loved it!

We met another couple for lunch here yesterday with our little dog. They drove from San Sebastien, Spain and we drove from Pau, France. The staff was all so lovely - and sat us out on the lovely deck and brought a bowl of water for our little dog. But the food… Oh my gosh, it was SO SO good! Two of us had Moules À La Crême. The friend staying in San Sebastien said it was the best she had ever eaten. I had never eaten moules before so had nothing to compare but Oh.So.Good!!! My husband had a burger and loved it. I highly recommend this restaurant and understand why everyone raves about it. We will be returning soon and bringing everyone here who comes...

we found this place by accident having run in to escape the oncoming storm after walking over from st jean. what started off as a beer each for my wife and me ended up becoming oysters, home-made beefburgers and two bottles of wine. the food was very good and full of flavour and the staff were the best we experienced in our stay in the st jean area.

ps. the storm only lasted 30 minutes we spent nearly 3 hours there, a highly enjoyable impromptu...
