Kind of a mixed feeling. We've had some of the crepes that many long for. Honestly, it's good. Which is a little less than I would expect, since you have to book ahead. Tried snails, which turned out to be an interesting choice, tasty but doesn't leave you speechless. There was a mix up with our order, received different meals. Service was willing to sort it out, but why waste food, we ate what we were given. Still, should it be a better restaurant we'd probably receive some kind of a discount or on the house extra, which sadly didn't happen. Excellent cider though. The setting is nice and cozy. I'd say a regular pub is the correct category. Doesn't hurt to spend some time there, but if you're looking for fabulous experience, this isn't it. Also it isn't probably a good idea to serve your friends sooner if you've got other guests still waiting who also arrived 30 minutes earlier. Both orders pancakes BTW.

We had a lovely evening in this beautiful and charming restaurant in one of the most beautiful villages of France, Châteauneuf. The interior has a very authentic vibe to it and the service was friendly. L'Orée du Bois is specialized in pancakes, savoury as well as sweet, but my companions and I preferred to order some traditional dishes from the menu. We started of our meal with a lovely charcuterie board and some crémant. We were really impressed by the outstanding wine menu and we took the opportunity to order an excellent bottle of Vosne Romanée with our main dish, roasted breast of guinea fowl with a sauce of Marc de Bourgogne and a burger. The food was good, but not really memorable. We did really enjoy the friendly atmosphere in the restaurant.

Un vrai coup de cœur – Une expérience culinaire avec vue ! C’est grâce aux nombreuses recommandations positives que nous avons découvert ce restaurant – et nous avons été plus qu’agréablement surpris. Rien que l’arrivée est déjà une belle expérience : des routes pittoresques qui serpentent jusqu’au sommet d’une colline offrant une vue imprenable. Le décor urbain, charmant et soigné, met déjà dans l’ambiance avant même d’entrer. La carte est variée et bien pensée, avec des plats pour tous les goûts – même les plus jeunes sont accueillis avec attention et bienveillance. Et ce qui est arrivé à table a largement dépassé nos attentes : chaque plat était préparé avec amour, parfaitement équilibré en goût et d’une qualité irréprochable. Le rapport qualité-prix est excellent. L’ambiance est tout simplement magique : une cheminée ouverte, de vieilles pierres pleines de caractère et une atmosphère chaleureuse qui rend la soirée inoubliable. Le service, attentif et souriant, a parfaitement complété cette belle expérience culinaire. Ce restaurant entre clairement dans la catégorie expérience gastronomique – sans prétention mais avec une cuisine authentique et raffinée. Idéal aussi pour fêter un anniversaire en petit comité. En résumé : Les avis positifs ne mentent pas – nous nous y joignons avec enthousiasme. Une adresse où l’on reviendra, c’est certain. Bravo et continuez comme ça !

Sublime experience in the most beautiful setting. The owner and front of house Louise was such a pleasure to meet and she made us feel so welcome. Stephen the Chef is clearly a talent with a Passion for good food. An all around brilliant experience hence we returned 3 nights in a row (don't tell anyone).. As We have 2 severely allergic Children we make our choice of eaterie seriously and this experience was easy and the children loved their food as as did We.
