Café Tortoni — Restaurant in Bergerac

Really great bar. Delicious food (the burger with goats cheese and honey is awesome!) It's a really good place for dogs as well. I am alone so I go alone with my two small dogs and they even allow me to take them into the toilet with me, which is often an issue I face when alone with dogs. Everyone who visits there talks to one another and it's a nice atmosphere. My only one small criticism I have is the French/English speaking element. I live here in France because I love the country, the language, the food, everything. And my only opportunity to ever practice my french is in a bar as I am alone the rest of the time. On a couple of occasions I've been cut off the second I open my mouth in French and told they speak English which I find upsetting. Anyway I politely explained that I want to speak French and please allow me to and he was fine and understood and said 'ok'. Just arrived in the area and stopped for lunch. Service was quick friendly and efficient until our order arrived. We ordered a plain cheeseburger burger for one of our sons. When it arrived he said there was a sauce he didn’t like. The first server guaranteed the kitchen never adds anything to a kids burger, the original server came by and said it was burger sauce. Café agréable avec une grande terrasse. Malheureusement le serveur (fils du patron) est aimable comme une porte de prison, peu professionnel et inefficace. Je l'avais déjà remarqué à plusieurs reprises mais là c'est le pompon. Attente de plus de 20 mn et plusieurs tables servies/Un petit signe et l'on arrive 10 mn après/Je fais remarquer que 2 en terrasse c'est peut-être un peu juste/On me répond que c'est bien/Je rétorque que non vu le temps d'attente/Plutôt que de me dire que l'on m'avait oublié, on me dit "vous êtes en vacances"/Manque de pot je réside ici/On me répond que j'ai le temps. Table en partie débarrassée et aucun coup de lavette. Encaissement immédiat alors que ce n'est pas pratiqué pour toutes les tables. Pas un sourire, beaucoup de certitudes et de dogmatisme, pas ou peu d'éducation, une absence totale de professionalisme. Un établissement où, en outre, on hésite pas à pratiquer un changement de table en plein repas (observé il y a quelques mois). Quel manque de savoir vivre. On est chez les beaufs. Inadmissible.

Nb: j''ai pratiqué ce métier en brasserie d'aéroport international, sur un hall de départs et arrivées. Ça va un peu plus vite, surtout en été, et vous avez intérêt à être efficace, professionnel et respectueux du client et à faire preuve d'intelligence, au moins sociale. Le matin les semelles fument et il y a deux étages de consommations chaudes sur le plateau. Ici pas de...
