We visited on 2/8/23 in the afternoon. I politely asked the young waitress (in French) if there was a menu we could look at, as some of our group were thinking of ordering crĂȘpes. She stared me down and hissed "Bonjour" as if to make a point that I hadn't greeted her correctly, then curtly told me the menus were behind me. Later when I politely ordered a round of drinks (again in French), she asked if I wanted to pay now or at the end. I told her in French I didn't mind, whatever was easiest, as we had previously ordered another round. She then barked "make your mind up, I've given you a choice!". When she finally brought the drinks over, she banged them down on the table as if to make a point.
This created embarrassment for our whole group, particularly seeing as we had made an effort to speak French from the start. I have lived in France and know that we didn't do anything that might be considered impolite.
If you want cold, and at times aggressive, service, then this is a good place to visit. If you prefer places that appreciate tourists (especially those who make an effort to communicate in the local language), I suggest trying one of the many other bars in Eymet that will offer a...
