Early morning, around 8.30 this morning got served 2 stale croissants. They were from yesterday for sure. I took one bite and went straight bac to the counter asking for fresh ones, the girl and her manager both looked at me as if I was in the wrong. I'm not a tourist, I know what a day-old croissant tastes like!!! They begrudgingly gave me my money back, without even an apology, just a shrug of shoulders as if to say c'est comme ca. So I went to Café Bluebird for a proper (English) breakfast, served by super nice people who couldn't be more accommodating if they tried. Nil...

Very mixed experiences. Older member of staff curt to the point of almost being rude. Younger staff nice and polite.

Pain aux choc rather stale when we purchased. But Houchards and Houchettes were good. Bread was ok but again not that fresh. Got the sense that tourists like myself are given the old stuff and the locals perhaps get fresher products.
