Possibly the cheesiest restaurant I've ever visited! After a full day on the slopes is there anything better than replacing all those burnt calories with vast quantities of cheese? We didn't think so, so we set out to find the best raclette or fondue in Les Houches. Restaurant Le Basilic is definitely a contender. There's hardly anything on the menu without cheese and the wonderful aroma hits you as soon as you enter - and follows you home!! The restaurant was packed and I'd strongly recommend booking, especially if you want a table away from the door! Service was efficient if a little blunt, but the food was excellent and exactly what was required.

One of the best meals I had in France this time. Not just because the food was amazing but the staff here are so friendly and welcoming. Anyone who can handle my family and a group of 18 and keep them happy deserves a medal in my book. The ‘escargots’ (snails) were incredible, so garlicky and buttery 🤤 Then for mains we had a selection of Cheese Fondues, Raclettes and burgers (for the kids). If I am ever back in this region I will be back in a flash, get there early and there is an amazing cheese shop opposite to. Well worth a visit.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Le Refuge des Loups Restaurant. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service made us feel right at home.I ordered the chicken in mushroom sauce and I must say, I wasn't disappointed. It was delicious. My friend ordered a regional cheese dish. But the biggest hit was the crème brûlée, served with marshmallows and whipped cream with nuts. On our last day in Les Houches, we went back for more crème brûlée... but unfortunately, it was Wednesday and the restaurant was closed.

Ordinary under seasoned sea bass. Tasted very fishy ( deep freeze ?? ) With half a plate of bitter salad. Lemon mash was ok. Sauce vierge?? Duck dish was also below standard for these prices, also with a ridiculous amount of salad and watery blueberry sauce not a combo with salad. No vegetables in savoie ? Its September not July. Cheese board 6 pieces of cheese, probably 30/40 grams in total, and served ice cold. Its a cheese board , not an ice board. Room temperature for cheese. Ice cream dessert was very very ordinary 110 euro for extremely average food. Do not recommend at all. Very disappointing indeed. As a chef myself , I would not send food out like what we had. I absolutely recommend this place. Everything was good, starting with the atmosphere. The staff immediately greeted us when we entered in the restaurant and was always very friendly towards us. We even had a toast together in the end! Plus, we all appreciated the fact that they willingly chose to speak french with us instead of using english because we were the ones who first talked in french, even if they perfectly knew that we weren't from France and that our french was not perfect.
