L'Adret — Restaurant in Bonneville

Fantastic location - sun trap .but also in my opinion a tourist trap . Ordered the meat platter cooked on a stone only to be told that this is only to be cooked for two people . Did not say this on menu . So I ordered the sirloin steak medium to well done . Yes I know that you should not have steak over cooked and it can lead to the meat being a little chewy. But this steak arrived and firstly the steak in portion size was miniature ,barley 150 grams if that. Secondly it was full of grizzle .so much so that I could not eat it. I called the waiter who was full of excuses .we buy our meat from the local butcher, nobody else is complaining , really look at the other reviews s then. A replacement steak was offered and accepted and following the advice of the waiter this time it was cooked as recommended medium rare ,but even just starting to cut the meat it was evident this was just as tough as the first one . I struggled to eat it and left the grizzle on the plate . Advised the waiter to recommend finding another butcher . Have been on holiday for two weeks now and this was the only restaurant that did not offery tap water when requested bottle only. I had steak at three restaurants all better than this one ,both in quality and size and also ten euros cheaper... Ordered a desert afterwards which sounded really nice ,cafe affogato but also lacked taste. All in all with a beer 44.10 euros for the worst meal whilst on holiday .as others have said owner was not interested in my complaint... hence review .Be Warned Do Not...

Nous sommes venus déjeuner à deux sur la terrasse de ce restaurant sans réservation. L'accueil était aussi inexistant que le management. Il y avait la même file d'attente pour les réservations et les autres ce qui ne permet pas d'évaluer le temps d'attente. La manager à l'accueil s'occupait en même temps du service donc le placement des clients était d'autant plus lent. Nous avons eu une table après quarante-cinq minutes d'attente. Une fois assis, les serveurs - en nombre suffisant - étaient tout sauf rapides et efficaces pour dresser la table et prendre la commande. Vingt minutes après avoir commandé, nous avons appris que l'un des plats n'était plus disponible et une fois la commande repassée, la cuisine nous a oubliés. Nous avons finalement été servis près de deux heures après notre arrivée. Notre serveur, Fares, s'est montré compréhensif et disponible mais la responsable s'est contentée d'une vague excuse liée au manque de personnel en temps de Covid alors qu'il était évident que c'en n'était pas la raison. Elle nous a offert les cafés et digestifs que nous n'avons pas commandés alors qu'offrir toutes les boissons ou les plats comme demandé aurait été plus adéquat - d'autant plus que notre journée de ski à 58 euros étaient largement gâchée. Very nice place, service and location. Food is super expensive, which is ok. What's not okay is that its cheap and bad. Edible maybe. The burger was cheap chicken tenders instead of beef. The cheese is cheap tasteless mozzarella. The fries are basic fried potatoes with zero extra preparation, soggy and cheap. Other burgers on the TMB coat less and are generally fantastic.
