La Marmite — Restaurant in Briançon

As an native English speaker, "Marmite" seems like a very peculiar name for a restaurant. Don't let it throw you. This place is terrific. We were only in Risoul for one night and had experienced problems with our room after a long day in the car. The welcoming staff at La Marmite was so inviting and helpful that we forgot our troubles. They answered endless questions from us with a smile and set us up with bourguignonne... a terrifically fun choice for the three of us. Basically, they bring out an electric pot with hot oil, a plank of meat cubes, a basket of fries, and a big salad. Nous sommes venus à 4 vendredi 14 février pour 21h et on nous a gentiment "balancé" à mais le deuxième service c'est 21h30.... Ça commence bien... Ensuite petit rattrapage oui non mais c'est pas grave... Bon OK.... Puis une façon de nous parler limite irrespectueuse, hautaine, nous nous sommes regardés avec les amis, à se dire mais on dérange ou quoi !!! J'ai failli lui faire remarquer son manque de respect. La deuxième serveuse était très gentille, rigolote et serviable. Puis celle qui nous a accueilli s'est assagi... Alors je ne sais pas si elle a remarqué son erreur ou quoi mais bon le mal était fait....

Nous avions commandé une fondue au cèpes, très bonne... Mais alors le réchaud était "dégueulasse" c'est inadmissible... On ne pouvait même pas régler le feu car c'était collé de crasse... Même la serveuse en a eu du mal à essayer de le regler. Ça c'est rédhibitoire......... Qu'en est il du reste des ustensiles ou autre...

En partant j'ai pu constater l'état d'un autre réchaud sur la table d'autres clients en partant qui était dans le même état donc ce n'est pas un cas isolé.

Je lis sur d'autre commentaires, copieux ou part généreuse.... Absolument pas. On est resté sur notre faim.

One of the best restaurants in Risoul. Everything is delicious and fresh, except for the bread which could have been crispier. Remember to come hungry and to book a table beforehand, because this place is packed in the evenings. The air inside gets thick, filled with smoke and aromas coming from Raclette and Fondue.
