We arrived rather late at circa 20:00 after an unsuccessful search for a table in Moustier, at first I was impressed by how fast and friendly the staff managed to find us a place for 6 p without reservation but then things started to become very strange very fast👀 Tierrie, the owner took our orders and after having to negotiate with him we could get three pizzas (instead of 4 which was apparently too much to handle for the kitchen) in a self proclaimed pizzeria... The first few plates arrived much faster than we have hoped. Turned out it was the neighbours‘ food who’s table was assigned with the same number in their system (keep this in mind for later)... The other meals took muuuuch longer to arrive at our table and two pizzas weren’t even brought at all! The overall atmosphere war incredibly loud, hectic and not inviting! The staff was shouting curses at each other and two of the waiters got in a fight... Later I witnessed Tierrie scratching his back with an olive oil vial that he proceeded to place on a freshly setted table... Then suddenly, customers which we figured out were too long neglected got into an argument with the pizza chef who yelled the worst things at them („ I’m going to break all your bones,...“,...) When Tierry noticed he sneaked up to the customers with a wine jug as a club first behind his back, then over his head, ready to attack👀 We stood up from our tables and rushed towards the counter before things were about to get worse... In all the turmoil, our aforementioned neighbours, who by this time only got half of their food that they must have ordered 1,5h or so ago, left without paying... we should have done the same!! When we finally got to pay, not only was our order completely wrong but the receipt also included all the unpaid food from the other table with the same number! We had to explain to tierry who didn’t seem to understand at all what was wrong with it for several times... We didn’t tip because service was essentially non existent and the owner apologised for the events of the evening, affirming us it has never happened before (the reviews disagree🤫) and finished with „c‘est la vie 🤷🏻♂️“ La Guinguette is perhaps the worst restaurant in a 40 km radius so as long as you are not starving or a gas station or a supermarket nearby is still open, DON‘T eat there!!! Would have given 0/5 ⭐️ The average of 2,6 speaks for itself and if you subtract the 5 star reviews (and strangely enough COVID regulations) from staff and regulars you pretty much get the...
Read moreThe fact that this place still exists can be related to the fact its the only place around so no one has no other choice to go anywhere else. Once they do I can imagine they won't want to come back. We didn't have to change to eat the food. We arrived after kayaking, hungry, after 10 minutes we had to wave to employee ourselves to be helped. They told us they don't serve hot food no more (it was 3.35) so we could only get crepes or ice cream. We got a sandwich at the sandwich bar (not the same as the restaurant, just go there, tasty, quick and efficient). We also wanted an ice cream. We went to the bar and the lady said we would be served at the table. The employee keeps passing us, even though he sees us, instead of helping us, he cleans an empty table. I wonder what is more important.. I waved, he nodded. After 5 minutes, my wife waves, he let's us know he saw us. But after that still nothing. We went to get an ice cream at the store next door. Enough staff walking around, but you see the chaos and lack of organization. You see staff eating fruit they cut, smoking. Since they have a monopoly position, there is clearly no reason to have a standard...

Rude employees, chefs on bare feet, smoking nearly in the kitchen, one of the employees was walking through the “restaurant” whilst vaping. The boss was walking around with his pants almost falling off (buy a belt please, all customers could see almost everything).
Because it’s the only restaurant-ish business in the area (near the lake) it basically has a free pass to serve and do whatever they want. The employees are not friendly, eg: the barman/casier was getting very angry in front of the customers because he could not find change for our payment. Only positive thing I could say about the whole situation is that we got a 2 euros disconunt because of this.
Another example: one of the servants was not customer friendly at all, and decided to not tell us about what options were available, until we finally ordered. Very arrogant behavior, came over anxious. PS: the ice cream was already melted (heavily) before it arrived at...
