Le Mille Pates — Restaurant in Brignoles

En été 2016, nous avons visité les Gorges du Verdon — un endroit magnifique, et quel privilège d’y avoir un restaurant ! On pourrait croire que le propriétaire de Le Mille Pâtes en est conscient. Malheureusement, ce n’est pas le cas.

Quand nous sommes arrivés, le restaurant était vide. Il faisait beau, alors nous avons choisi une table à l’extérieur, sur la gauche. Le propriétaire est venu nous dire que nous ne pouvions pas nous asseoir là. Pour être clair : la table choisie était à environ 10 mètres de la cuisine ; il voulait que nous en prenions une autre à 5 mètres. Pourquoi ? Lui seul le sait.

Cela nous a semblé mesquin et peu accueillant. Nous sommes partis sans commander.

Malheureusement, j’avais oublié mon iPhone sur place. Quand je suis revenu le récupérer, le propriétaire a exigé que je lui présente des excuses formelles. Ce n’est pas une façon de traiter les clients.

J’espère sincèrement que d’autres liront ceci et réfléchiront avant d’y aller. À en juger par ses réponses, il n’a rien retenu. Quel gâchis pour un lieu aussi beau.

In the summer of 2016, we visited the Gorge du Verdon — a stunning place and a rare privilege to run a restaurant there. You’d think the owner of Le Mille Pâtes would appreciate that. Unfortunately, he didn’t.

When we arrived, the restaurant was empty. It was a sunny day, so we chose a table outside on the left. The owner came and told us we couldn’t sit there. To be clear: our chosen table was about 10 meters from the kitchen; he insisted we sit at one 5 meters away. Why this mattered, only he knows.

It felt petty and unwelcoming. We left without ordering.

Unfortunately, I had forgotten my iPhone and returned to retrieve it. Instead of simply returning it, the owner demanded a formal apology. That’s no way to treat guests.

I sincerely hope others read this and reconsider visiting. From what I’ve seen, he still hasn’t learned a thing. A shame for such a beautiful place.

En el verano de 2016 visitamos las Gargantas del Verdon, un lugar impresionante y un verdadero privilegio tener un restaurante allí. Uno pensaría que el dueño de Le Mille Pâtes lo valoraría. Lamentablemente, no es así.

Cuando llegamos, el restaurante estaba vacío. Como hacía sol, elegimos una mesa afuera, al lado izquierdo. El dueño vino de inmediato y nos dijo que no podíamos sentarnos allí. Para que quede claro: nuestra mesa estaba a unos 10 metros de la cocina; la que él quería que usáramos estaba a solo 5 metros. ¿Por qué importaba? Solo él lo sabe.

Nos pareció una actitud mezquina y poco acogedora. Nos fuimos sin pedir nada.

Por desgracia, olvidé mi iPhone en el restaurante. Cuando volví a recogerlo, el dueño exigió que le pidiera disculpas formalmente. No es así como se trata a los clientes.

Sinceramente espero que muchas personas lean esto y lo piensen dos veces antes de ir. Por lo que he visto en sus respuestas, no ha aprendido nada. Una pena para un lugar tan hermoso.

One waitress was relaxed although working hard still had time to be friendly (genuine). This was the blonde woman. The other was making a lot of noise and acting busy. People were coming up to the restaurant and she rapidly said a lot of words without them understanding. This was the lady with dark hair and black clothes. So, being busy versus acting busy. For us it was okay all in all. Our dog was welcome although the acting busy waitress made a big scene, waiving her arms when he was in the path saying she is scared of dogs. A tip is to do this more decretely without everybody listening and looking. The place were we were seated hardly had any space for him.

The pasta pesto was very nice! The chicken burger was a bit dull. The fries (from different potato's) is...

First, there are a lot of wasps. It's not the restaurant's fault, but they also didn't help with it at all (just said "they are not dangerous") while they are sitting on the glass the whole time. Also no tables inside. We put our drinks on the table next to us to get away from the wasps, but when the waitress prepared it for the next guests, she just took the drinks away without asking. Then there was leftover bread on that table, she just threw that on the street (???). The pasta was ok, but the taste was not very intense. Finally, we had to pay for a drink where a wasp got in. Really bad...
