La Potinière — Restaurant in Caen

We decided to eat here as the boys could have pizza, their favourite and my daughter could have a veggie burger and we could have something more grown up. Got a really friendly welcome and first drinks in no time. But after that it was nearly an hour till our food arrived. And no more drinks either. The pizzas were great, my eldest said it was the best calzone he's ever had. My fish was ok, decent size piece but I bigger portion of chips would've been good. I was ravenous after a full day of activities in Clecy. The veggie burger was disappointing. It was more like a potato cake with veg in it. Tasted mainly of carrot. I know this as my daughter didn't like it at all so I ate it to fill up.

When our food arrived we asks for more drinks, which didn't come. We then asked the a different waiter (the really cheerful one that served us first) and they arrived in no time along with condiments and more water. Unfortunately we were half way through our meals by this point.

And just to finish my son went to use the toilet, and came back saying he'd wait as they were a mess. He's not the precious type.

So a bit of mixed bag, it was busy so I get it. But I don't eat out that often so a bit disappointing...

The whipped cream was so good it sparked a conversation about the famous scene in inglorious bastards. delicious meal avec mes amies and the service was really friendly and welcoming. Geniale. aperol spritz was strong!!!! lots of mosquitoes by the river but it didn’t detract from the experience. plat du jour looked wonderful but i didn’t choose to eat it. toilet lock was like breaking into alcatraz but the challenge was great....

Déjeuner en famille. Arrivée à 12h30 . Commande prise rapidement. Une seule personne de notre famille prend une entrée. Elle est servie dans les temps. Ensuite cela se gâte. Nous attendons nos plats, attendons, attendons… au bout d’une heure on commence à s’inquiéter et on demande à la serveuse ce qui se passe : la personne ayant pris l’entrée à retardé le fait que nous n’avons pas nos plats. Cela nous paraît bizarre mais on attend patiemment. Au bout d’une demi-heure on se demande réellement si on nous a oublié car on voit les plats défiler sauf les nôtres. On a vraiment faim et on demande une corbeille de pain. On redemande gentiment ce qui se passe et là on nous dit qu’il y a eu un problème technique avec le ticket ! On a donc attendu 2 h avant d’être servi et l’histoire du ticket est simple : il était perdu en cuisine. Aucun geste commercial n’a été effectué rien de rien. Sinon les plats étaient bons sauf les glaces et bananas split. Notre après midi a donc été courte : merci bien!. Nous demeurons près de clecy et voulions faire visiter à notre famille cet endroit charmant et ça a été gâché par ce service déplorable.
