La Comédie — Restaurant in Cahors

Having read the reviews I wasn't sure what to expect, so to my surprise it was better than the recent reviews.

We sat outside in bright sunshine under one of the umbrellas. The waitress arrived promptly and explained the choices, including a menu du jour for less than €15, which we both chose as moules wee only available at the weekend.

Our drunks, a glass of house white and house red arrived quickly, followed by our beetroot and ham salads. Two healthy sized portions, very tasty accompanied by a healthy sized basket of fresh bread. The bread was excellent.

Our mains of the confit poulet, chicken leg cooked in its own fat, was veryaccomaif a little small, accompanied by a large portion of pasta, which neither of us finished.

And for our dessert we had the chocolate pie accompanied by cream, with warm chocolate gently running out onto the plate; very nice.

So all-in-all and for just over €30 for the two of us it wasn't bad value for money at all really, ok it wasn't Michelin star cuisine or even cordon bleu cooking, it was basic, value for money, we're hungry and want something to eat whilst enjoying the sights and sounds of Cahors dining, which is what it was. And the question is, as always, would i visit here again, woukd i eat here again based on todays experience (10/10/24) and yes i would. The wiatress was really good, she was friendly and her service was prompt.

Our pooch also enjoyed the bread and pasta too.

CATASTROPHIQUE Cette équipe devrait songer à changer de métier. 2 frères avec leur maman, venus du Nord. L'ambiance pourrait y être fort sympathique. Hélas, ils s'engueulent entre eux, et se noient dans une goutte d'eau. Ils ne parlent pas un mot d'anglais. Difficile dans une ville touristique... La carte est courte. Nous pouvons donc nous attendre à des produits frais et de qualité. Mais les tomates cerises sont pourries. Nous les retirons tous de nos assiettes. Les frites sont très grasses et molles. Dommage pour des gens qui viennent du Nord ! Ma salade végétarienne n'est constituée que de salade, concombre, maïs et qqs croutons. Ils ont même oublié les tomates !! Ils me les rajoutent : il y a 4 mini rondelles ! Et elles sont farineuses et sans goût. C'est scandaleux ! Ma salade à la maison est plus appétissante et constituée de plus d'ingrédients. A la fin, nous passons un énorme 15 ou 20 mn à vérifier tous les comptes avec le serveur. Car nous étions une table de 11 personnes à payer individuellement, et il nous annonce qu'il manque 15 euros. I have never seen a waitress who is so rude - Never step foot in this place. I went for a late afternoon drink with some friends. The waitress corrected in a very inappropriate way any french pronounciation which was slightly wrong.
