La Table Du Marché — Restaurant in Cahors

I live in France for a large part of the year and visit many tourist spots and I am therefore used to the various Restaurant Prices, but I fell a little backwards when I saw what this off the beaten track restaurant was charging and the wine Menue was right up there like a 5 star Mitchellin Restuarant, offering an Alsace Wine at 64e I had the roasted Cod at 26e, which was never Roasted but nice, my wife the Sole at 32e and a tad on the small size and resembled a plaice, nicely served as a part fillet. My Guest had a Sea Food Pen Pasta that did look incredible, but tasted like Spaghetti Bolognaise. Overall it felt more like dining in a French Bar than...

We visited this lovely restaurant on the way home to the Charente . It was very quiet which is a shame as the food and service were both excellent . Jon had the sea bream which was produced with a flourish by the owner as he deftly removed the head and tail and all the bones . My lamb shank was well cooked with a delicious sauce . We shared a oven cooked Camembert to start which again was lovely . We followed the main course with crepes suzette for me and tarte noix for Jon . A truly delightful meal with very welcoming and friendly staff and good value for the 90 euros bill...

Arnaque, passez votre chemin !! Attrape touriste ! Nous avions réservé une table qui n'était pas prête à notre arrivée, je signale au serveur que notre table n'a pas été nettoyée après les précédents clients. Il nous installe nos couverts quand même disant qu'elle est bien comme ça(on nettoie nous même). On vient nous demander 2fois notre choix d'entrée, mais après 30min on nous sert les mauvaises entrées! (idem pour la table d'à côté d'ailleurs). Pain décongelé encore froid, fois gras sans goût, et ma tranche deux fois plus fine que celle de mon compagnon... Pichet de vin imbuvable. Le plat de cochon est correct. Le dessert n'est certainement pas fait maison: une tartelette tellement dure qu'on n'arrivait pas à la couper à la cuillère, on ne sent que le sucre, boule de glace insipide, aucun goût de caramel. C'est bien la première fois qu'on ne finit pas nos desserts au restaurant! Le propriétaire se balade entre les tables sans masque, de même que les serveurs... Si vous voulez manger du surgelé, sans goût et passer une mauvaise soirée c'est le bon endroit. Une véritable honte, les notes ne reflètent pas la qualité plus que médiocre de cet endroit qui profite de son emplacement central pour attirer...
