Le Pukèko — Restaurant in Cahors

Beautiful place, pretty much HOMEMADE everything!! Which is very rare these days in a restaurant! Cafe gourmand is to die for, as are their fries! Outdoor terrace looking onto beautiful Prayssac town centre. The food is amazing, even when they had a crisis with their grill they still put on a superb substitute menu of fish and veggie burgers. My French partner is particularly partial to an auckland skytower burger and they serve great fish and chips if you feel nostalgic for english food. We've been 3 times; twice last year and again this year and we are here all summer so will undoubtedly be back again and again! Prices are fair and great for the generous portion sizes and quality of ingredients / homemade-ness. Lovely staff too, which makes it so homely, friendly and welcoming! Would definitely recommend and bring friends and family here. It's high on our list of things we will miss from this area when our summer is over....

When I read other reviews exclaiming that this is the best ..... that I have ever had, I am sceptical of such superlatives. In this case, however, I will have to evaluate the Bacon and Bleu Hamburger that I ordered in the elite category. It was not too drippy with sauce, the blue cheese taste was there but not overwhelming, the meat was fresh. In short, I thoroughly enjoyed it to the last bite. I prefer my chips a bit less oily, but this is a matter of personal taste and in no way detracted from my overall enjoyment of the meal.

Superb cafe overlooking the Medieval town of Puy L'Eveque - stunning! Food is always excellent, from the greek salad, homemade burgers or their famous Fish 'n Chips!! They also have a superb local Rose (Tu Bois Coa from La Berangeraie) oh my goodness, wonderful. And great homemade desserts & artisanal ice cream - what's not to love.
